KENT, OHIO – The Kent State Golden Flashes remained perfect on this young men’s basketball season as they improved their record to 3-0 after defeating the Delta Devils from Mississippi Valley State 80-67 Sunday afternoon at the MAC Center.
“It’s good to win” KSU head coach Rob Senderoff said. “It wasn’t one of our better games, but we will get better as we go along.”

Mississippi Valley State (0-4) was led by Emmanuel Ejeh, who had a game high 21 points and eight rebounds. Terek Eckwood added 17 and Jordan Evans had 10.
From that point on, it was all Golden Flashes as they opened a nine-point lead 34-25 and led at halftime 34-27.
MVS tried to make a game of it early in the second half, closing to 42-40 at the 15:06 mark on a layup by Ejeh.
However, that would be as close the Devils could get for the rest of the game. Kent State pulled away, opening as much as a 14-point lead 67-53 on a pair of free throws by De La Rosa, and went onto win by 13.
The Flashes shot 51.8 percent (29-0f-56) from the field and had 20 assists, MVSU won the rebound battle 33-27.
KSU returns tp action on Tuesday night, finishing the three-game home stretch with a matchup against Southeastern Louisiana out of the Southland Conference
