MAC Reporter Online continues its roundup of college football Award watch lists with the Rimington Award Watch List.

The Rimington Trophy Committee has released its 2016 Fall Watch List. After careful consideration during the off-season and spring practices, representatives from Division I football programs across the country submitted nominations to the Rimington Trophy committee and the watch list was created. These athletes are projected to excel at the center position in the upcoming season.

Four MAC players on the list

MAC Reporter Online continues its roundup of college football Award watch lists with the Mackey Award Watch List.

Given annually to the most outstanding collegiate tight end, the award recipient is selected by vote of the John Mackey Award Selection Committee and the 2016 Mackey Award recipient will be announced on Dec. 7, 2016 and then presented live on Dec. 8 at The Home Depot College Football Awards Red Carpet Show on ESPNU.

BGSU and NBA great Nate Thurmond passes away

BOWLING GREEN, OH - Nate Thurmond, one of Bowling Green State University's most accomplished athletes across any sport and one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history, has passed away at the age of 74.

Thurmond arrived in Bowling Green in the fall of 1960 to play for legendary Falcons' coach Harold Anderson. In his freshman season, he made an immediate impact by scoring 17.8 points per game and adding a school-record 18.7 rebounds per game. His total of 449 rebounds remains the second-most ever in one season at BGSU.

Buffalo point guard will transfer

Lamonte Bearden, a 6-3 guard from Milwaukee who averaged 13.7 ppg and 4.4 apg last year as a Buffalo Bulls sophomore, will not be with UB next year. The point guard helped Buffalo capture two Mid-American Conference championships (and the NCAA bids) in his time with the program.
