YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – A 27-10 run to start the second half fueled Eastern Michigan to a 97-73 win over the University of Michigan-Dearborn Sunday afternoon at the Convocation Center.

. . . a 27 point performance against Michigan-Dearborn (4-2). He also added seven rebounds, four assists and a steal for EMU.
Minnie was joined in double-figures by redshirt junior Paul Jackson, who scored 15 points and added four assists, senior Tim Bond (15 points, six assists, four steals, three blocks), and junior James Thompson IV (14 points, 13 rebounds), notching his 41st career double-double.

Thompson's second double-double of the 2017-18 campaign moves him into sole possession of second place on Eastern Michigan's all-time list, passing EMU legend George Gervin. The junior now only trails Kennedy McIntosh, who holds the record with 78 double-doubles.
EAGLES NEVER TRAILED
Eastern grabbed control of the game just five seconds into the contest as Bond dropped in a lay-up to put the Eagles ahead. EMU would hold that lead for the rest of the game, never allowing UM-D to get closer than three the rest of the way.
Offense controlled the game for the first half of play, as Eastern shot a blistering 56.3 (18-of-32) percent from the floor and Michigan-Dearborn put up a 44.1 (15-of-34) percentage. It was a slim six-point margin at the break at 49-43, thanks in large part to the Wolverines' 55.6 (10-of-18) percent shooting from behind the three-point line.
PULLING AWAY
The second half saw Eastern Michigan continue its offensive outburst, darting ahead of Michigan-Dearborn courtesy of a 27-10 run over a 10-minute span. The Eagles shot even better in the second stanza, posting a 58.1 percentage from the floor, while turning the defense up a notch and holding the Wolverines to just 37.1 percent.
Eastern forced Dearborn into 15 turnovers in the game and came away with 12 steals to go along with an impressive eight blocks. The two teams were even in the assist column, each totaling 22, but the Eagles held the advantage in rebounds at 39-33.
INSIDE DOMINANCE
For the game, EMU dominated in the paint, outscoring UM-D 52-24 inside while shooting 57.1 percent from the floor and 35.7 percent from downtown. The Green and White also added a 78.9 percent mark from the charity stripe in the contest. On the flip side, Michigan-Dearborn was held to 40.6 percent shooting from the floor and 42.4 percent from beyond the arc. The Wolverines attempted just five free throws in the game.
EMU returns to the friendly confines of the Convocation Center Thursday, Nov. 16 when it plays host to Arkansas State at 7 p.m.
