The Falcons (13-5; 5-0 MAC) were led by the back court duo of junior Dylan Fray and redshirt sophomore Justin Turner.
Frye finished with 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while redshirt-sophomore guard Justin Turner contributed with 13 points, five rebounds and four assists. Freshman guard Caleb Fields and senior guard Antwon Lillard added 10 points apiece.
Western Michigan (6-12; 0-5 MAC) shot just 28.1 percent from the field and 12.5 percent from beyond the arc. No Broncos reached double figures, but senior center Seth Dugan led WMU scoring with eight points.
BGSU got off to a fast start in the first half, making three of its first four three-pointers to grab an 11-2 advantage. The Broncos responded with an 8-2 run to get to within three after two free-throws from Printy. WMU once again cut the lead down to three after a three from Boyer-Richard to trail 14-11 at the 10:49 mark.
After a three from BGSU, the score was deadlocked at 17-11 for nearly four minutes as BGSU went just 1-of-9 from the field while the Broncos went scoreless from the field during the stretch. Towards the end of the first half, both teams went a combined 2-of-18 from the field as WMU trailed 23-15.
BGSU extended their lead to end the first half going on a 9-2 run the final 2:13 to take a 30-17 lead into the locker room. WMU’s 17 points was the lowest amount of points in a half this season.
The Falcons began the second half much like the first, embarking on an 11-3 run to gain 21-point lead just three minutes in. Midway through the second half, WMU got hot from the floor making three of four field goals to cut into the Falcon lead before BGSU countered with a 6-0 run to lead 56-31 at the eight-minute mark.
BGSU ended the game on a 9-2 run while WMU hit just one of their final 14 three-point field goals in the loss.
