BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo Bulls opened Saturday’s game on a 20-2 run and never looked back as the Bulls defeated Central Penn, 88-54, at Alumni Arena.  All 11 Bulls who saw action scored in the contest as UB improved to 6-3 on the year.

The Bulls scored the first . . .

. . .  seven points of the game before Central Penn found the scorning column. Alredy leading 7-2, the Bulls went on a 13-0 run, getting points from five different players during the run to take a 20-2 lead.

UB extended its lead to 39-13 following a three-pointer from freshman James Reese as he put the Bulls ahead 39-13 with 4:08 left.  The Knights pulled within 39-18, but Buffalo ended the half on a 7-0 run as a layup from CJ Massinburg gave the Bulls the 46-18 halftime lead.

UB scored the first six points of the second half to take a 52-18 lead with 18:05 left, but Central Penn made a bit of a comeback, trimming the advantage to 23 as the Knights trailed 61-38 with 10:14 left.  Buffalo answered with a quick 8-0 run as a free throw from freshman Jayvon Graves gave UB a 69-38 lead.

The Bulls were able to empty their bench for the final six minutes as walk-ons Gabe Agorioge and Colby Moultrie both saw action, as did Dominic Johnson, who joined the squad from the football team just a day ago.

Moultrie scored the first points of his career with a three pointer with 5:42 left and then the Bulls took their largest lead of the game on a three from Graves with 4:28, putting UB ahead, 83-45.

Johnson also got in on the scoring as he took a nifty pass from Graves down low and converted a nice reverse layup scoring the first points of his career.

The Bulls had five players in double figures, led by 18 points, six rebounds, and six assists from Reese as he notched a new career-high in scoring.  Massinburg recorded another double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Junior Montell McRae also had a career-high afternoon as he finished with 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting.  Graves had a career-best 11 points and six assists, while Jeremy Harris finished with his first career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Nick Perkins added seven points and five rebounds, while Davonta Jordan had six points and four boards.  Redshirt freshman Brock Bertram returned to the floor after missing the last five games due to injury and had four points.

Moultrie finished with three points, while Johnson had two points and two rebounds.  Agorioge finished with one point.

The Bulls held Central Penn to 31.7% from the floor and just 23.5% from three-point range. UB also recorded 23 assists, while adding a season-high 12 steals.

UB will be off from competition this week to focus on finals and will return to the court next Saturday when the Bulls host Robert Morris at Alumni Arena.  Tipoff is at 2pm.
