Falcons roll past Lourdes in pre-MAC finale

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State Falcons concluded their non-conference schedule with a 97-56 victory over Lourdes University Thursday at the Stroh Center.
 
Bowling Green, which raised its record to 9-4 on the season held a 48-22 lead at halftime, and shot 58.6 percent for the game to cruise to the win.
 
The Falcons went . . . 

  . . . 11-for-26 (42.3 percent) from downtown, and 18-for-25 (72.0 percent) at the charity stripe.
 
With BGSU's 11 made three-pointers, the Falcons have now made at least 10 triples in a game a total of five times in 2017-18.
 
A total of 12 players scored for the Orange and Brown, while 13 players saw action in the contest.

FALCON FACTS
• Bowling Green finishes the non-conference slate with a 9-4 record. The Falcons also went 9-4 across the non-conference sche dule in head coach Michael Huger's first season in 2015-16.
• The Falcons are now 5-0 in games against non-Division I programs under head coach Michael Huger.
• BGSU is 24-15 in non-conference games under head coach Michael Huger.
• The Falcons are 10-7 in the month of December in the Huger Era.
• With the win, the Falcons are now 4-2 at the Stroh Center in 2017-18, and 62-40 all-time at the facility.
• BGSU held Lourdes to 32.8 percent (19-of-58) shooting for the contest. Lourdes went 9-for-29 (31.0 percent) from three-point territory.
• The Falcons registered 16 assists, and scored 21 points off 16 LU turnovers.
• Bowling Green destroyed Lourdes in the rebounding category by a 47-23 margin.
• The Falcons had more paint points (44-18), bench points (45-28), second-chance points (16-6), fast-break points (19-9) and points off turnovers (21-12).
• 12 of the 13 players that saw action for Bowling Green scored.
• The Falcons led for 36:36 of the game's 40 minutes.
 
PLAYER NOTES
• Sophomore guard Rodrick Caldwell led the Falcons with 15 points on 4-of-6 shooting.
• Junior forward Demajeo Wiggins totaled 11 points and eight rebounds in just 17 minutes. He went 4-for-8 from the floor.
• Redshirt-freshman guard Justin Turner finished with 11 points, four rebounds, four assists, and two blocks. Turner shot 5-of-8 on field goal attempts.
• Freshman forward Daeqwon Plowden tied a career high with 10 points. He went 5-for-7 from the floor, and also recorded four rebounds and one assist.
• Sophomore guard Dylan Frye registered 10 points, five rebounds and three assists.
• Senior guard Matt Fox went 3-for-4 from downtown, totaling nine points. He also had three rebounds, one assist and one block.
• Junior guard Antwon Lillard posted nine points on 3-of-4 shooting, while also racking up four rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal.
• Freshman guard Nelly Cummings registered six points, two rebounds, one assist and two steals. Cummings has at least one assist in every game this season.
• Freshman forward Derek Koch returned to action, and finished with five points and seven rebounds.
• Junior guard De Andre' Austin scored his first-career points, as he went 2-for-2 from the field, including a three-pointer, to finish with a career-high five points. He also had one rebound.
• Redshirt-junior forward Jeffrey Uju added three points and five rebounds.
• Freshman center Joniya Gadson went 1-for-1 from the field, and finished with three points, three rebounds, one assist and one steal.
