MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State football head coach Mike Neu announced Wednesday that 18 student-athletes will join the Cardinal program beginning this spring or next academic year.

. . . four offensive linemen, three defensive linemen, three defensive backs, two quarterbacks, two linebackers, two tight ends, one running back and one wide receiver. The class features players from nine states – Indiana (four), Ohio (four), Michigan (three), Louisiana (two), Florida (one), Georgia (one), Kentucky (one), New Jersey (one) and Texas (one).
"I think if you look at this class, the 18 guys who have signed right now, the thing that jumps out first and foremost is the length, the athleticism and the versatility," Neu said. "You can't get enough of those traits in your program. It was an exciting day for everyone for the Ball State football family."
Ball State opens its 2018 schedule with four consecutive non-conference games. The Cardinals kick off the season with a home game on Thursday night, Aug. 30 against Central Connecticut State. Ball State then travels to Notre Dame (Sept. 8) and Indiana (Sept. 15) before winding down the non-conference slate at Scheumann Stadium against Conference USA foe Western Kentucky on Sept. 22.
