Frye time as Falcons notch another road win

NORFOLK, Va. – Bowling Green moved to 7-2 on the season with a 92-77 victory over Norfolk State University on Saturday night at NSU's Echols Hall.
Sophomore Dylan Frye led the Falcons offensively with a career-high 28 points.

. . . true road games, got out to a 46-31 lead at the half, and played an even second half to walk away with the 15-point victory.
 
GAME OF RUNS
• Bowling Green went on an 18-0 run early in the first half to take a 23-5 lead.
• Norfolk State started the second half with a 20-5 run to even the score at 51-51 with 14:29 to play.
• Justin Turner hit a corner triple with 14:05 to play to give BGSU a 54-51 lead. The Falcons had the lead for the rest of the contest. 
• The Falcons closed the game on a 41-26 run to pick up the 92-77 victory.
 
FALCON FACTS
• Bowling Green improved to 7-2 for the first time since 2015-16.
• BGSU is now 7-2 for just the third time over the last 16 seasons.
• Bowling Green is 3-0 in true road games. The 2001-02 team was the last Falcon team to win its first three true road games.
• Bowling Green is now 2-0 versus Norfolk State all-time. Both wins have come under head coach Michael Huger.
• The Falcons are 22-13 in non-conference play under head coach Michael Huger.
• The Falcons had 19 assists, marking the team's fifth game of the season with at least 15 assists.
• In the first half, the Falcons held the Spartans to 39.3 percent (11-of-28) shooting in the first half, including a 2-for-9 mark from three-point territory.

• The Falcons also had more paint points (26-24), more fast-break points (12-6) and more points off turnovers (18-17).
 
PLAYER NOTES
• Dylan Frye had a career-high 28 points on 9-of-13 shooting. He went 5-for-7 on #DeepFrye attempts.
• Frye entered the season with four triples being his game high. He's had three games with five three-pointers in 2017-18. Frye is shooting 45.6 percent on #DeepFrye attempts for the season.
• Frye's 28-point game marked the sixth 20-plus point game of his career.
• Matt Fox tied his career high with 18 points. He went 4-for-6 from downtown. Fox now has three 18-point games in his career.
• Demajeo Wiggins posted 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting. He also added seven rebounds, one block and one steal.
• Justin Turner went 4-for-7 from three-point land, and finished the contest with 16 points, two assists, two rebounds and one steal. Turner is shooting 45.0 percent from downtown for the season.
• Rodrick Caldwell had four points, five rebounds and seven assists. Caldwell has had at least four assists in each of the last six games.
• Derek Koch racked up four points, eight rebounds and a career-high four assists.
• Daeqwon Plowden chipped in with two points, one assist, one block and one rebound.
• Nelly Cummings had two points, one rebound and one assist.
• Jeffrey Uju had three rebounds.
