WEST POINT, NY – A season ago, the Buffalo Bulls erased a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit to defeat Army at UB Stadium. The Black Knights returned the favor by scoring two fourth-quarter touchdowns to beat the Bulls, 21-17, at Michie Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

. . . great for the Bulls. Tyree Jackson connected with Anthony Johnson on the fourth play of the game for a 52-yard gain. Buffalo then capitalized with a 21-yard field goal by Adam Mitcheson to take an early 3-0 lead.
Army responded with a long touchdown drive on its first possession to take a 7-3 lead with 6:58 left in the first quarter.
Early in the second quarter, UB’s offense caught fire. On the first play of the period, Jackson rumbled 75 yards on a quarterback keeper to give the Bulls a 10-7 lead.
On Buffalo's very next possession, Jackson hit a streaking Antonio Nunn in stride for a 48-yard touchdown pass to give UB a 17-7 lead with 11:42 left in the half. It was Nunn's first career touchdown catch.
After a great defensive series for the Bulls, a short Army punt gave UB the ball at the Army 32. However, on the very first play of the ensuing possession, a Buffalo fumble, recovered by Army, injected life in the Black Knights.
The score remained 17-7 early in the third quarter, when another Buffalo fumble, with the Bulls in scoring position, was recovered by Army. The Black Knights marched 79 yards over the next eight minutes and scored on a short touchdown run to cut the UB advantage to 17-14.
Following a Buffalo punt, Army mounted another long scoring drive. The Black Knights drove 66 yards over seven minutes and scored on another short touchdown run to take the lead for good, 21-17.
"We let an opportunity get away from us today," head coach Lance Leipold said, "They did a great job controlling the clock and ball. A couple turnovers and a couple penalties and the whole momentum thing got away."
Jackson finished with 268 yards of total offense. He was 9-of-16 for 193 yards passing and rushed for 75 yards. Johnson had three catches for 82 yards and Kamathi Holsey had three grabs for 34 yards in the game.
Defensively, Jarrett Franklin had 12 tackles, including a tackle for loss to lead the Bulls. Khalil Hodge had his second straight game with double-digit tackles, finishing with 11. Defensive ends Demone Harris and Chuck Harris each registered career highs in tackles with nine and eight, respectively.
The Bulls will next play against Colgate in the home opener next Saturday at UB Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 6 pm.
