The Mid-American Conference on Monday announced its Week 10 Football Players of the Week.
MAC East honorees are Nathan Rourke (Ohio), Nate Locke (Bowling Green) and Matthew Wilcox (Bowling Green).
MAC West honorees are Jonathan Ward (Central Michigan), Trevon Mathis (Toledo) and Jack Sheldon (Central Michigan).

East Division:
Offensive Player of the Week: Ohio QB Nathan Rourke
Ohio sophomore quarterback Nathan Rourke (Ontario, Canada) was responsible for six touchdowns, including three rushing touchdowns and passing for three others, in a 45-28 win over Miami on Oct. 31. Rourke finished with 54 rushing yards and 294 passing yards, a career high, going 21-33 with no interceptions and no sacks. Rourke leads the MAC in overall scoring (96) and rushing touchdowns (16) and ranks fourth with 2057 yards of total offense. Rourke’s 16 rushing touchdowns ranks second all-time at Ohio and his 29 touchdowns responsible for also ranks second. Rourke ranks second in the NCAA in rushing touchdowns, total points (96) and total touchdowns, fourth in scoring (96), fifth in points responsible for and 10th in points responsible for per game.
 
Defensive Player of the Week: Bowling Green LB Nate Locke
Bowling Green senior linebacker Nate Locke (Canton, Ohio) totaled eight tackles, four tackles for loss and one sack in a 44-16 win at Kent State on Oct. 31. Locke picked up 4.0 tackles for loss, which matched his total through the first eight games of the season. On the season, Locke leads the Falcons with 8.0 tackles for loss, and is second on the team with 65 tackles. Locke also has 2.0 sacks, a fumble recovery and three quarterback hurries.
 
Special Teams Player of the Week:  Bowling Green KR Matthew Wilcox
Bowling Green freshman kickoff returner Matthew Wilcox (Huber Heights, Ohio) had a huge day returning kicks in Bowling Green's 44-16 victory at Kent State on Oct. 31. Wilcox averaged 40.0 yards on three kick returns, including a 61-yard return that is Bowling Green's longest kick return since 2015. The 61-yard return gave the Falcons the ball at the Kent State 38. Bowling Green quickly drove the final 38 yards, and capped the big return with a touchdown drive. Wilcox also had a 38-yard return in the second. 

West Division:
Offensive Player of the Week:  Central Michigan RB Jonathan Ward
Central Michigan sophomore running back Jonathan Ward (Kankakee, Ill.) had 213 all-purpose yards in a 35-28 victory at Western Michigan on Nov. 1. Ward had 132 rushing yards on 17 carries and scored on a 29-yard run in the fourth quarter to lead a 21-point fourth-quarter comeback on the road. He also had four catches for 81 yards.
 
Defensive Player of the Week:  Toledo DB Trevon Mathis
Toledo senior defensive back Trevon Mathis (Pittsburgh, Pa.) picked off two passes in a 27-17 win over NIU on Nov. 2, including a fourth-quarter interception that stopped a Huskie drive at the Toledo 33-yard line. Prior to the NIU game, Mathis had three interceptions in his entire career. He also had six tackles and broke up one pass.
 
Special Teams Player of the Week: Central Michigan P Jack Sheldon
Central Michigan junior punter Jack Sheldon (Echuca, Victoria, Australia) punted nine times and put Western Michigan inside the 20-yard line three times in a 35-28 victory on Nov. 1. Sheldon had a long of 60 yards on a rainy evening, and he average 44.2 yards per punt.
