Joining the Rockets' backcourt duo in double digits were junior Setric Millner Jr. (11 pts.), freshman Ryan Rollins (11 pts.), redshirt freshman Mattia Acunzo (10 pts.) and sophomore Keshaun Saunders (10 pts.).
Toledo shot 50.8 percent from the field and limited the Falcons to a 35.9 shooting mark. The Rockets also held a 47-40 advantage on the boards and held an 11-2 cushion in second-chance points.
Senior Trey Diggs led Bowling Green with 17 points. Josiah Fulcher followed with 12, while Justin Turner notched 11 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF
>> Toledo jumped out to an early 9-0 lead as Bowling Green missed its first 14 shots. The Falcons rallied and took their only lead of the game, 24-23, on Trey Diggs' three-pointer 6:33 before halftime.
Marreon Jackson's layup gave Toledo the lead back less than a minute later. Mattia Acunzo then scored seven of the Rockets' next nine points for a 34-26 cushion at the 2:48 mark.
>> Spencer Littleson and Setric Millner Jr. followed with back-to-back dunks for a 38-26 lead forcing Bowling Green to take timeout 1:33 before halftime. Keshaun Saunders' jumper on the Rockets' final possession gave Toledo a 40-28 lead at intermission.
SECOND HALF
>> Toledo maintained control throughout the final 20 minutes with its lead dipping to nine points on just two occasions.
>> The Falcons cut the Rockets' lead to 41-32 with 18:17 remaining, but JT Shumate responded with a layup and Millner added a dunk for a 45-32 cushion. Littleson's three-pointer with 11:04 to play increased Toledo's advantage to 59-42.
>> The Falcons made one last push and cut their deficit to 65-56 with 6:13 left, but Toledo hit four straight triples as part of a 12-3 spurt to put the game away.
