The game-deciding stretch took place with under four minutes in regulation. After Ohio regained a 74-72 lead, freshman guard Josiah Fulcher drove the lane and found Diggs for a wide-open layup with 3:36 remaining. Fifth-year senior Justin Turner hit a pair of free throws with 2:43 to go, and then found freshman Kaden Metheny for a reverse layup just 20 seconds later, giving the Falcons a 78-74 lead. BGSU capped the 8-0 run with a pair of Turner free throws with 55 seconds to play.
Five Falcons – Diggs (20), Metheny (16), Turner (15), redshirt-sophomore Dylan Swingle (14) and senior Daeqwon Plowden (11) – scored in double figures. Bowling Green totaled 51 points in the second half and shot 52.4 percent from the floor over the final 20 minutes to earn the win.
Ohio's Dwight Wilson hit 9-of-14 from the field on the way to a team-high 20 points. Ben Rodrick (16), Ben Vander Plas (13 points, 11 rebounds) and Lunden McDay (11) also reached double figures.
