MIAMI 84, BUFFALO 69

BUFFALO, NY --
Miami (22-8, 13-4 MAC) connected on 55.9 percent from the field and 57.9 percent on threes as the RedHawks defeated Buffalo 84-69 Tuesday at Alumni Arena.
With the win, MU locked up the No. 2 seed and next week's MAC Men's Basketball Tournament. Buffalo, meanwhile, fell to 9-21 overall and 4-13 MAC. That assured them an 11th place finish in the 12 team league. The top eight teams advance to tournament play.
Buffalo had shined in its last outing, connecting on 62.5 percent from the field and 56.5 beyond the arc while defeating Toledo 87-74 Saturday.

KENT STATE 77, WESTERN MICHIGAN 76
KALAMAZOO, MI  -
Cian Medley's two free throws with four seconds remaining lifted Kent State (20-10, 10-7 MAC) to a 77-76 victory over Western Michigan (11-19, 8-9 MAC) Tuesday at University Arena. 
The Flashes led 42-39 at halftime and were in front 75-71 with after Delrecco Gillespie's free throw with 1:37 remaining. Chauncey Willis Jr. scored five straight points to put the Broncos in front 76-75 with 29 seconds left. 
KSU missed a trey at the other end but got the offensive rebound. When Cian Medley was fouled in the closing seconds, he sank both free throws for what proved to be the tying and winning points. 
Kent State's Jalen Sullinger scored a game-high 31 points. Gillespie recorded a double-double of 18 points and 18 rebounds, while VonCameron Davis added 11.
The Broncos were led by Willis Jr. (24 points). Markhi Strickland was also in double figures with 10 points. 
Kent State had two less field goals and three less treys, but the Flashes went 26 of 31 at the free throw line. WMU made 18 of 23 at the stripe. KSU also had a 53-31 edge in rebounds. 

EASTERN MICHIGAN 83, OHIO 79
ATHENS, OH --
Visiting Eastern Michigan (16-14, 9-8 MAC) shot 51.7 percent from the floor and outscored Ohio (16-14, 10-7 MAC) 44-24 in the paint on the way to an 83-79 Eagles win Tuesday at the Convocation Center. 
The Bobcats trailed by 15 in the first half but fought back for a 38-38 tie at intermission. 
Eastern Michigan built up a 12-point second half lead (73-61) with 5:42 remaining in the second stanza. Ohio cut into its deficit, but could not catch the Eagles.
With one regular season contest remaining, both teams have earned spots in the upcoming MAC tournament. Ohio is tied for third and EMU is tied for fifth in the standings. 
Christian Henry led the Eagles with 23 points. Joining him in double figures were Jalen Terry (15), Da'Sean Nelson (14), Arrie Osojnik (13) and Yusuf Jihad (10). 
Jackson Paveletzke led the 'Cats with 20 points. Shereef Mitchell followed with 17.
AJ Clayton recorded 12 points. AJ Clayton added 12 and Vic Searls chipped in 10. 

CENTRAL MICHIGAN 69, BALL STATE 67
MUNCIE, IN --
After trailing by 17 at intermission, Central Michigan (14-16, 7-10 MAC) rallied for a 69-67 win over Ball State (14-16, 7-10 MAC) Tuesday at Worthen Arena. 
Both teams are tied for ninth in the MAC standings, one game behind Bowling Green and Western Michigan. The top eight teams qualify for next week's MAC tournament. One regular season date remains. CMU hosts Northern Illinois and Ball State vsiits second place Miami, which sealed its No. 2 seed with Tuesday's win over Buffalo. 
Jakobi Heady and Anthony Prichard paced the Chippewas against BSU with 18 points apiece. Ugnius Jarusevicius tallied 13. 
Jamahri Hill led all scorers with 21 points. Mickey Pearson Jr. (11) was the only other Cardinal in double figures. 
Ball State led by two before Jakobi Heady scored on a layup with 1:28 remaining. 
The game was tied at 65-all with 1:28 remaining. His jumper at :46 the the Chippewas in front until Person knocked down a pair of free throws with 24 seconds left. Heady's basket with eight seconds left gave CMU the win as a final Cardinals shot missed the mark. 

BOWLING GREEN 71, NORTHERN ILLINOIS 58
DeKALB, IL --
Javontae Campbell scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Bowling Green (14-16, 8-9 MAC) past Northern Illinois 71-58 Tuesday at the NIU Convocation Center. 
It was the 11th straight loss for NIU, while the Falcons held on to a share of seventh place with one regular season game remaining. The top eight teams qualify for next week's MAC Men's Basketball Tournament. BGSU faces Western Michigan (also 8-0 MAC) Friday. 
Joining Campbell in double figures for the Falcons were Marcus Johnson (17), Derrick Butler (14) and DaJion Humphrey (11). 
Quentin Jones topped NIU scorers. He was followed by James Dent Jr. (13), Tsvet Sotirov (11) and joe Munden Jr. (10).
Bowling Green registered just four points from its bench, but the Huskies got no points from the two bench players that saw action. 
The contest was tied at 39-all with 16:03 remaining in the second period. Bowling Green, however, built a 12-point lead (62-50) at 2:43 and went on to earn a 13-point edge by the final horn. 

AKRON 96, TOLEDO 87
TOLEDO, OH --
Six Akron (24-5, 16-1 MAC) players reached double figures as the Zips handed Toledo (16-14, 9-8 MAC) its fourth straight loss and sixth setback in the last seven outings with a 96-87 UA victory Tuesday at Savage Arena. 
Akron, which has already secured the No. 1 seed of the upcoming MAC Men's Basketball Tournament, has won three straight since absorbing its only conference loss of the year at Ohio Feb. 22. 
After breaking a 5-5 tie, the Zips built a 21-point halftime lead (45-24). Toledo chipped away and pulled within four (86-82) with 1:27 to go but could not catch the visitors. 
Shammah Scott came off the bench to score a team-high 16 points for UA. Joining him in double figures were Tavai Johnson (14), Nate Johnson (13), Seth Wilson (11), Amani Lyles (11) and Isaiah Gray (10). 
Sean Lewis (23) and Javan Simmons (22) topped Toledo, followed by Sonny wilson (16) and Isaiah Adams (14).
The Rockets had one more field goal overall, but UA recorded eight more treys and three more free throws as Toledo connected on just 64 percent from the line.
