KENT, OH -- Visiting Ball State (7-6, 1-0 MAC) took the lead with an 11-0 second half run and held off Kent State (9-4, 0-1 MAC) for a 75-67 win at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center Saturday.
Ball State shot 52.2 percent (24-46) on field goals, 50 percent (9-18) on 3-pointers and 69.2 percent (18-26) at the foul line while winning the rebounding battle 39-26.
Kent State connected on 35.8 percent from the field overall and 26.5 percent outside the arc.
Jermahri Hill led BSU with 18 points, followed by Mickey Pearson Jr. (14 points, 9 rebounds, Jeremiah Hernandez (13 points) and Ethan Brittain-Watts (10 points).
VonCameron Davis tallied a game-high 20 points for Kent State. Jamal Sumlin (12) and Jalen Sullinger (10) combined for another 22.

YPSILANTI, MI -- Senior forward Da'Sean Nelson scored a career-high 32 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Eastern Michigan (7-6, 1-0 MAC) past Northern Illinois (4-9, 0-1) Saturday at the George Gervin GameAbove Center.
Northern Illinois led 37-33 at intermission, but EMU moved in front early in the second half. After trailing leads, the Eagles moved in front for good on a layup by Nelson at 12:30.
NIU was as close as two points with 23 seconds to play but Nelson added two free throws with one second left to seal the victory.
Joining Nelson in double figures for EMU were Jalin Billingsley (15) and Christian henry (13).
James Dent Jr. led the Huskies with 15 points. He was followed by Ethan Butler (14), Quaran McPherson (12) and Quentin Jones (10).

TOLEDO 76, WESTERN MICHIGAN 70
KALAMAZOO, MI -- Sonny Wilson scored 20 point and Sam Lewis registered a double-double (14 points, 10 rebounds) to lead Toledo (7-6, 1-0 MAC) past Western Michigan (3-10, 1-0 MAC) Saturday at University Arena.
It was the 14th straight Rocket win over WMU, which has lost its last six games this year. Toledo broke a three-game losing streak (two losses against top 25 teams) with the victory.
The two teams were tied at 21-all in the first half. UT then built up a 10-point lead before taking a 35-33 lead to the locker room.
Western Michigan fought back to tie the game at 40-40 with 15:45 remaining. However, UT regained its advantage and led by as many as 10 before winning by six.
Joining Wilson and Lewis in double figures for UT was Andre Lorentsson (10).
Chansey Willis Jr. tallied a game-high 21 points for Western Michigan. Ja'Vaughn Hannah came off the bench to score 13 points. Owen Obsinger recorded a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.

OHIO 57, CENTRAL MICHIGAN 55
MOUNT PLEASANT, MI -- AJ Brown scored 14 points and Jackson Paveletzke added 11 as Ohio (7-6, 1-0 MAC) held off a determined Central Michigan (6-7. 0-1 MAC) challenge for a 57-55 win Saturday at McGuirk Arena.
The 'Cats led 35-28 at intermission. However, the hosts fought back to take a 39-38 lead on Jakob Heady's layup at 13:57.
Vic Searls' basket at 11:33 moved the visitors back in front, 44-42, and Ohio led by 10 at 7:58. Central Michigan then chipped away, pulling within one point (56-55) on Cayden Vasko's tip-in. Forty-five seconds remained, and CMU got a steal. However, Ohio responded with a steal of its own and Brown made one of two free throws. A final CMU shot missed the mark.
Jakobi Heady led the Chippewas with 15 points. Anthony Pritchard (13) and Ugnius Jarusevicius (11) combined for 24 points.

OXFORD, OH -- Miami (9-4, 1-0 MAC) connected on 17-of-34 3-point attempts on the way to a 93-79 win over Buffalo (5-8, 0-1 MAC) Saturday at Millett Hall.
Brant Byers, a 6-8 redshirt freshman, was a perfect 6-of-6 from long distance as he scored 18 points. He was one of six RedHawks reaching double figures. Kam Craft led the group with 20 points, including a couple of big treys to help stem a second half Bulls comeback. Peter Suder tallied 17 points, while Eian Elmer and Mekhi Cooper contributed 11 apiece.
The RedHawks shot 45.1 percent from the field overall and 50 percent on threes. Buffalo, meanwhile, connected on 50.9 percent overall and 50 percent on threes. However, the Bulls totaled four less field goals (32-28) and seven less 3-point goals (17-10). Miami owned . . . CONTINUE
