FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL GOLDEN PANTHERS (1-2)
>> FIU belongs to Conference-USA. The preseason media poll picked Florida International to finished sixth imong seven teams in the East Division.
>> The team's only win this season was a 48-10 thrashing of Long Island University (FCS, Northeast Conference). FIU then fell to Texas State 23-17 in Week Two.
>> The Golden Panthers jumped out to an early 7-0 and posted TDs in each of the first three quarters while losing to Texas Tech 54-21.
>> FIU was out-gained 584-246. The Golden Pathern defense surrendered 407 passing yards and another 177 on the ground. TTU owned a 31-10 advantage in first downs.
>> Florida International's ground game produced just 37 yards on 29 attempts (1.9 ypc). Dvonte Price contributed 51 yards and a TD among his 15 carries. However, the Panthers had 30 yards of losses. For the season, Prince is averaging 7.6 ypc and has four touchdowns to his credite.
>> QB Max Bortenschlager completed 12-of-27 aerials for 185 yards with two TDs and two interceptions. Tyrese Chambers caught two balls for a total of 71 yards. On the season, he owns nine receptions for 217 yards (24.1 ypc) with two scores.
CENTRAL MICHIGAN CHIPPEWAS (1-2)
>> CMU was down 21-0 in the first quarter and 35-7 by intermission last week at LSU.
>> One of Central Michigan's three touchdowns was a defensive score (20-yard Devonni Reed interception return).
>> Of LSU's 484 yards, 400 came through the air.
>> CMU's offense totaled 284 yards and converted 9-of-19 third down opportunities. The Tigers recorded five sacks and 15 TFL.
>> LSU held Central Michigan to 56 rushing yards on 31 attempts (1.8 ypc). Myles Bailey led the ground attack with seven carries for 29 yards.
>> QB Jacob Sirmon completed 17-of-24 passes, good for 156 yards and one TD with one interception. Daniel Richardson also saw action, connecting on 8-of-15 for 72 yards with one TD.
>> Jacorey Sullivan notched five interceptions totaling 114 yards and one TD.
>> The CMU defense had one sack and four TFL.
