Friday, Nov. 26 - Noon ET
Doyt L. Perry Stadium -- Bowling Green, OH
CBSSN

A fourth win and chance to end 2021 on a winning note are at stake when Ohio visits Bowling Green Friday. Both teams have 3-8 records, although BGSU has just one conference victory to three by Ohio. A Bobcat victory, therefore, would give first-year Head Coach Tim Albin's team a .500 MAC record.

Each team fell last week. Miami cruised by the Falcons 34-8, while Toledo ended the Bobcats modest two-game win skein with 35-23 decision.

This is the 72nd all-time meeting between the Bobcats and Bowling Green, with the Falcons leading 40-30-2. The last meeting was Nov. 28, 2020, when the Bobcats rolled ot a 52-10 triumph in Athens.

Here's more on the two teams . . .

OHIO BOBCATS (3-8, 3-4 MAC)

>> Ohio out-gained Toledo 445-401 and had a 30-18 edge in first downs. In fact, UT scored 35 points despite a possession time of just 18:33. However, the 'Cats had trouble finishing for three quarters. Ohio managed three field goals over three quarters before scoring two touchdowns in the last 4:29.

>> Sophomore quarterback Kurtis Rourke completed 22 of 36 attempts, good for 233 yards with one TD. Ten different Bobcats caught at least one pass, but none had more than four. Isiah Cox led the way with four receptions for 65 yards. Chase Cokley registered the only receiving score.

>> As with receiving, Ohio spread the wealth in rushing. Eight 'Cats had carries, with De'Montre Tuggle leading the way (13 carries, 49 yards). Rourke also was credited with 13 carries, netting 18 yards.

>> Ohio's defense surrendered 251 rushing yards, with Bryant Koback doing most of the damage (21 carries, 203 yards, four TDS).
The Bobcats are ranked 10th among MAC teams in rushing defense (202.0 ypg). The are eight in defending the pass (237.8) and seventh in pass defense efficiency.

>> De’Montre Tuggle leads the ground game with 762 yards, while averaging 75.0 yards per game, with seven touchdowns on the ground. O’Shaan Allison adds 291 yards on the ground, while Armani Rogers adds 617 yards on 89 carries and six touchdowns.

>> During one of Rogers appearances at quarterback, he pulled off a 99-yard run from scrimmage against Buffalo.  The run set a new NCAA record for the longest run by a quarterback. The mark was previously held by Mark Malone who ran for a 98-yard touchdown in 1979.

>> Redshirt sophomore linebacker Cannon Blauser has made the most out of moving into a starting role. On the season, Blauser
has 77 tackles, 35 solo and 42 assisted - with 7.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, five quarterback hurries and one fumble recovery.

BOWLING GREEN FALCONS (3-8, 1-6 MAC)
>> The Falcons three wins this season came against Murray State, Minnesota and Buffalo. In the 56-44 win over UB, Bowling Green more than doubled its highest previous point production for any other game this season. That game also was its own highlight reel of big plays by the Falcons. It started with an 81-yard pass play to open scoring and finished with quarterback Matt McDonal's 47-yard run to end scoring. Among the other six BGSU TDs was a 64-yard reception by Tyrone Broden, 30-yard reception by Broden and two runs by Terion Steward (77 yards, 20 yards).

>> Bowling Green has lost twice since defeating Buffalo: Toledo 49-17 and Miami 34-7.

>> Terion Stewart broke loose for a 62-yard TD run midway through the first period against MU, but that was BGSU's only points of the day. Facing one of the MAC's top defenses, Bowling Green totaled 258 yards of offense.

>> McDonald completed 13 of 28 pass attempts, totaling 108 yards. The RedHawks registered eight sacks and 14 TFLs.

>> Tyrone Broden led Falcon receivers with five catches for 53 yards. Nick Mosley topped rushers with 15 carries for 94 yards. Stewart logged seven trips totaling 71 yards and a score.

>>   Stewart is averaging 7.0 yards per rush on 98 career carries. For his career, he is averaging a rushing touchdown once every 10.8 touches.

>> Sy Dabney led BGSU defenders with 10 tackles and a sack. Darren Anders had eight hits.

>>  LB Darren Anders is one of two players in the nation this season with 100+ tackles (111), 3.0+ sacks (3.0), 1+ fumble recoveries (1) and 1+ interceptions (1). LSU’s Damone Clark is the other. Anders currently ranks tied for No. 9 in the nation and is No. 1 in the MAC with 111 tackles.

>>  LB Brock Horne and LB Anders are the only defensive duos in the nation from the same team with each player recording 83+ tackles, 1+ sacks and 1+ interceptions.

>> Bowling Green has 28.0 sacks through 11 games, which is the program's fifth-most sacks through the first 11 games of a season in records dating back to 2000.

>> K Nate Needham is 15-of-15 on field goal attempts this season. He is one of two FBS players who is perfect on the year, but his 15 made field goals rank No. 1 in the nation among those who are perfect. A perfect 10-of-10, he shares the nation’s lead the nation with 10 field goals from 40+ yards.

>>  BGSU has rushed for 100+ yards in 23-of-28 games under head coach Scot Loeffler. Four of those games where the Falcons failed to reach 100 rushing yards came in the first five weeks of the 2021 season.

>> S Jordan Anderson leads BGSU with three interceptions.  He ranks No. 20 in the nation and tied for No. 1 in the MAC with his three interceptions.

>> WR Tyrone Broden has 36 catches for 596 yards and five touchdowns. He has been on fire of late, collecting 18 catches for 349 yards and four touchdowns over the last six games. He is averaging 19.39 yards per catch during that span, which includes his first two career 100-yard receiving games (Akron, Buffalo). He is No. 4 in the MAC with 16.56 yards per reception on the season.
