UB Stadium -- Buffalo, NY
ESPN3
The scoreboard at UB stadium could get a workout Saturday as Buffalo opens its 2021 season facing an FCS team that is picked to finish in the bottom half of its conference.
Wagner, a member of the Northeast Conference, actually played two games in a spring schedule, losing both. Scoring was the Seahawks biggest challenge as they put just seven points on the board. Facing one of the MAC's better defenses, Wagner faces a stiff test.
The Seahawks have shown a pretty good pass rush, with Titus Leo registering 15 tackles, two sacks, four TFL and a pair of forced fumbles.
Buffalo has established itself as a powerful offense that thrives on rushing the football. Even with Jarrett Patterson gone, Kevin Marks can step up and build upon the succcess he hs already enjoyed.
The Bulls were second in the nation in rushing last year and have plenty returning upfront to grind down opponents once again.
Quarterback Kyle Vantrease won't have Antonio Nunn as a target this season, but the senior can do damage with Dominic Johnson and others. It was actually UB's pass game that led the Bulls over Miami (OH) last year.
With a lethal offense and strong defense, Buffalo will be heavily favored to give new head coach Maurice Linguist his first Bulls victory.
