# MARYLAND 20, NORTHERN ILLINOIS 9
COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Malik Washington passed for two touchdowns and Sean O'Haire booted a pair of field goals as Maryland moved to 2-0 on the season with a 20-9 victory. 
• Northern Illinois' sole touchdown came on a 74-yard run by Telly Johnson Jr. in the third quarter. A two-point conversion failed, leaving NIU down 13-9. The Terrapins sealed their victory with a fourth quarter TD. 
Josh Holst completed 14-of-22 passes totaling 91 yards for the Huskies. Chavon Wright ran 27 times for 90 yards -- exactly half ot NIU's 180 yards rushing. 
The Northern Illinois defense limited Maryland to 86 yards rushing.

# OHIO 17, WEST VIRGINIA 10
ATHENS, OH --
Ohio's offense scored 17 first half points and the Bobcat defense held Maryland to three second half points in a 17-10 Ohio victory at Peden Stadium. 
• The 'Cats owned a 429-250 yard advantage in total offense and recorded 24 first downs to just 13 for the visitors. However, Ohio also committed three turnovers. All three were interceptions as QB Parker Navarro completed 22-of-31 for 247 yards and a TD with three picks. He also ran 18 times for 87 yards. 
• Chase Hendricks led Ohio receivers with eight catches totaling 121 yards with one score. 
• West Virginia was held to 72 yards rushing.

# RUTGERS 45, MIAMI 17
PISCATAWAY, NJ --
Miami Head Coach Chuck Martin had predicted a much different style of game when his RedHawks faced Rutgers this week after a largely defensive struggle in a 17-0 loss at Wisconsin last week.  
His prediction proved accurate as Rutgers recorded 31 first downs in a 45-17 win over Miami. The RedHawks offense got untracked for 17 points and just missed out on moe.
Senior QB Athan Kaliakmanis, who had looked good a week earlier against Ohio, had another big game against MU. He completed 26-of-36 passes for 259 yards and four touchdowns. Ian Strong was the top target, catching nine balls for 116 yards and two scores. KJ Duff added six receptions totaling 71 yards with a score. 
The Scarlet Knights eventually worked in a ground game that netted Rutgers another 162 yards.
Miami quarterback Dequan Finn bounced back from a tough Week 1 with 336 yards of total offense. He completed 14-of-22  passes, good for 251 yards with one costly interception and run for 85 of MU's 117 yards rushing. 
The interception came with Miami down 10-7 and driving in the second quarter. The pick was returned 68 yards to set up a Rutgers TD at the other end. 
Both teams scored a TD in the third period and Rutgers put the game away with 14 fourth quarter points. 
In addition to committing the game's only turnover, the RedHawks were flagged 10 times for 94 yards. A couple of those penalties wiped out significant gains. 
Senior LB Jackson Kuwatch (11 tackles, 1 sack) and DB Eli Blakey (10 tackles, 1 TFL) led the Miami defense. 
The RedHawks have a bye next week and will host UNLV Sept. 20

# PITTSBURGH 45, CENTRAL MICHIGAN 17
PITTSBURGH, PA -
The Panthers passed for 340 yards and four touchdowns while pulling away for a 45-17 win over Central Michigan Saturday. 
Eli Holstein completed 21-of-28 passes for the Panthers, who added another 124 yards and two TDs rushing.
Central Michigan quarterbacks connected on 20-of-27 pass attempts, producing 177 yards with one TD. However, the Chippewas were only able to run for a total of 40 yards (1 TD) on 41 carries. 
CMU completes its opening three-game road gauntlet with a matchup at No. 15 Michigan next Saturday.

# TEXAS TECH 62, KENT STATE 14

LUBBOCK, TX --
No. 24 Texas Tech rolled up over 60 points for the second straight week in a 62-14 win over Kent State. The Red Raiders totaled 601 yards on offense, with 371 through the air and another 230 on the ground. 
• KSU quarterback Dru DeShields  completed 7 of 15 passes for 77 yards and a TD. CJ Montes connected on 4-of-10 (49 yards and one interception). 
• Ardeli Banks caught two passes totaling 49 yards for the flashes. 
• Kent State ran for a total of 64 yards. Gavin Garcia and DeShields combined for 47 yards with one score. 
• The Red Raiders scored 21 in the first quarter and 27 in the second period. They added seven in each of the final two periods. Kent State got all its points in the final quarter.

# CINCINNATI 34, BOWLING GREEN 20

CINCINNATI, OH --
Down 24-3 in the third quarter, the Bowling Green Falcons fell short with a second half rally and UC finished with a 34-20 victory. 
•  Bearcat QB Brendan Sorsby completed 17-of-24 pass attempts for a total of 333 yard with three TDs. He also ran for 40 yards and a TD to top Bearcat rushing. 
• Falcon QB Drew Payne connected on 29-of-36 aerials, good for 274 yards and a score. 
• Cameron Pettaway provided 72 of BGSU's 98 yards on the ground. 
• Jyrin Johnson led Falcon receivers with seven catches for 80 yards and a touchdown. 
• Bowling Green hosts Liberty Saturday, Sept. 13.

# NORTH TEXAS 33, WESTERN MICHIGAN 30 (OT)
KALAMAZOO, MI --
Western Michigan led 17-7at intermission and 27-17 early in the fourth quarter, but North Texas State rallied for a 33-30 overtime victory. 
Kali Nguma's 25-yard field goal with 1:35 to go forced overtime. Palmer Domschke hit a 48-yard field goal to start the extra period and put the hosts up 30-27. However, McKenzie McGill II capped the Mean Green possession with a 3-yard TD. Two penalties on WMU contributed to the NTSU drive. 
The Broncos rushed 57 times for 216 yards and two TDs Jalen Buckley led the way with 30 trips totaling 112 yards.and added another 51 yards (with 1 TD) receiving .
• Quarterback Broc Lowry completed 5-of-10 passes for 75 yards with one TD. He also ran 12 times for 112 yards and two scores. 
• Domschke hit all three of his field goal tries for WMU. 
• The Broncos are at No. 11 Illinois next Saturday.

# BUFFALO 45, SAINT FRANCIS 6
BUFFALO, NY --
Al-Jay Henderson logged 24 carries for 98 yards and two TDs as Buffalo trampled Saint Francis 45-6 Saturday. 
• ​Quarterback Ta'Quan Roberson, meanwhile, contibuted 88 yards (2 TDs) on the ground and 133 yards (1 TD) through the air by completing 10-of-20 passes. Robertson and Gunnar Gray were both intercepted once. However UB's defense allowed just one TD and held the Red Flash to 11 yards rushing. 
• Buffalo ran for a total of  370 yards.

# BRYANT 27, MASSACHUSETTS 26
AMHERST, MA --
Bryce Soli's 25-yard field goal as time expired lifted Bryant to a 27-26 win over UMass. 

• The Minutemen led 20-10 at halftime, but trailed 24-23 before Derek Morris hit a 53-yard field goal with 4:11 to play. Bryant then countered with a winning boot by Soli.

• Bryant was limited to 81 yards rushing but threw for 318 yards and three scores.  
UMass rushed for 101 yards and two TDs. Brandon Hood led the way with 11 carries for 39 yards. 

• Three UMass quarterbacks combined to complete 20-of-32 attempts for 257 yards with one pick.

# TOLEDO 45, WESTERN KENTUCKY 21
TOLEDO, OH -
Senior Chip Trayanm ran for 163 yards and scored two TDs as Toledo defeated Western Kentucky 45-21 Saturday at the Glass Bowl. 
• The Rockes roared early, scoring 21 first quarter points and adding 10 before halftime for a 31-7 advantage. UT added another 14 in the third quarter before allowing WKU two fourth quarter TDs. 
• Tucker Gleason completed 7-of-12 for 155 yards and two • Toledo TDs. John Alan Richter completed 5-of-9 for another 46 yards and a touchdown. 
• Senior receiver Junior Vandeross III caught five passes for a total of 122 yards. That included a 71-yard touchdown just before intermission. Trayanum's 75-yard run immediately after the break kept Toledo rolling. 
• Western Kentucky gained 274 yards and scored two TDs through the air but was limited to 59 yards and one score on the ground.

# LONG ISLAND 28, EASTERN MICHIGAN 23
YPSILANTI, MI -- Long Island picked up its first win against an FBS in program history Saturday, edging Eastern Michigan 28-23.
• The Sharks, who fell to Florida 55-0 in Week 1, grabbed a quick lead on Ethan Greenwood's 65-yard first quarter gallop. LIU led 14-10 at intermission. After a scoreless third period, the Sharks out-scored EMU 14-13 in the final period.
• Long Island out-gained the Eagles 479-311 overall.
• Noah Kim completed 18-of-29 passes with two touchdowns for Eastern Michigan. Terry Lockett Jr. recorded eight catches for 78 yards. 
• Dontae McMillan topped EMU rushers with eight carries for a total of 58 yards and one TD. 
• Rudy Kessinger was good on his only field goal try -- a 32-yard effort. 
• Sterling Miles topped Eagle defenders with eight tackles, including 1.5 TFL. 
• Neither team committed a turnover, and EMU did not draw a penalty.
• The Sharks won time of possession (37:53-22:07)
•# AUBURN 42, BALL STATE 3
AUBURN, AL --
The Tigers (2-0) out-gained visiting Ball State 495-68 in a 42-3 Auburn victory Saturday. 

• BSU (0-2) was held to minus-3 yards rushing on 33 attempts, while the Tigers ran for 224 and passed for another 271. 
• Cardinal quarterback Kiael Kelly completed 10-of-16 passes totaling 71 yards. Eric Weatherly caught five balls for a total of 42 yards. 
• Auburn put up 14 first quarter points and added seven more befoe halftime. It was 28-0 before Carson Holmer hit a 22-yard third quarter field goals for BSU's only points. 
• ​Jeremiah Cobb led Auburn with 11 carries for 121 yards with two TDs. . Eric Singleton Jr. also had two touchdowns among his four catches for 64 yards. Cam Coleman caught seven passes for 77 yards. 
• ​ Ball State opens its home slate Sat., Sept. 13 when it hosts New Hampshire. 

# NEBRASKA 68, AKRON 0
LINCOLN, NE --
Hosting Nebraska (2-0) rolled up 730 yards of offense while limiting Akron (0-2) to 175 yards in a 68-0 triumph Saturday. 
After putting up nine first quarter points, the Cornhuskers erupted for 34 more in the second stanza. They added 21 and 14 points in the final two periods.
• ​Akron's Ben Finley connected on 7-of-21 passes for 54 yards.Michael Johnson Jr completed both his attempts for a total of eight yards and was sacked twice. 
• ​Marcel Williams had four receptions for 28 yards.
• ​Sean Patrick (64 yards) and Jordan Gant (31) yards led UA rushers. The Zips netted 113 yards rushing after 40 yards in losses as Nebraska recorded two sacks and nine TFL. 
• ​Shammond Cooper topped Akron defenders with nine tackles, including two TFL. 
Akron punted eight times in the game. Nebraska did not punt.
