​# CENTRAL MICHIGAN AT NO. 23 MICHIGAN (NOON, BTN)
After opening with a 16-14 win over San Jose State, the CHIPPEWAS fell 45-17 last week at Pitt.
This week's assignment is even tougher as CMU visits No. 23 Michigan in Ann Arbor. 
•
• • • • The WOLVEINES are also 1-1. After starting 2025 with a 34-17 victory over New Mexico, UM fell at No. 18 Oklahoma 24-13 last week. 
The Wolverines were down 14-0 at halftime but pulled within one score on Justice Haynes' 75-yard TD gallop to open the third quarter. 
Oklahoma quickly answered to make it 21-7. Two Wolverines in the period pulled Michigan within eight  (21-13). However, OU posted the game's final points with a Sooner field goal.
• Michigan freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood completed just 9-of-24 (142 yards) against Oklahoma. 
•  Donoven McCulley led M with three catches for 91 yards.
• Junior RB Justice Haynes produced 125 yards and one TD among his 19 carries. He also caught three balls for nine yards.
• TJ Metcalf recorded an interception, while senior linebacker Ernest Hausmann had 11 tckles (4 solo).
• Michigan registered just one sack but eight TFL.

• BUFFALO AT KENT STATE (NOON, CBSSN)
It's only Week 3, but the Bulls and Flashes will get a taste of MAC play Saturday when they meet at Dix Stadium in Kent. 
• Both teams enter the matchup with 1-1 records, although UB is a significant favorite.
• • • • BUFFALO fell at Minnesota 23-10 in Week 1 and rebounded with a 45-6 victory over St. Francis last Saturday. 
• The Bulls scored at least one TD in every quarter, putting up 17 in the first period and 14 to in the third stanza to pull away.
• UB out-gained the Red Flash 503-126.
• Senior Ta'Quan Roberson completed 10-of-20 attempts, good for 133 yards with one TD and one interception. 
• Al-Jay Henderson led the Bulls with 98 rushing yards on 24 carries with two TDs. Roberson was right behind with nine carries totaling 88 yards with two scores. 
• Victor Snow topped receives with three catches for 67 yards and a TD. 
• The Buffalo defense held Saint Francis to 11 yards (1 TD) on 20 rushes. 
• • • •  KENT STATE opened its campaign with a 21-17 win over Merrimack but fell to No. 24 Texas Tech 62-14 last week. 
• KSU was out-gained 601-229 overall. 
• The Flashes wee limited to 64 yards rushing on 34 trips. 
• Kent State went 2-14 on third down chances (1-of-3 on 4th down).
• Quarterbacks Dru DeShields (7/15, 116 yards, 1 TD) and CJ Montes (4/10, 49 yards, 1 INT) combined for 165 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT). 
• Ardell Banks caught two passes totaling 49 yards. 
• The Aggies recorded three sacks and six TFL.

# NEW HAMPSHIRE AT BALL STATE (2 P.M., ESPN+)
After falling to Big 10 (Purdue) and Auburn (SEC) programs in the first two weeks, Ball State gets something of a break Saturday when it hosts New Hampshire.
The Wildcats, however, are typically a pretty strong FCS program and are off to a 2-0 start in 2025. They are one of three Coastal Athletic Association teams who have not lost through two weeks. 
• • • •  NEW HAMPSHIRE defeated Holy Cross 19-16 last Saturday. The hosting Wildcats led 10-9 at intermission.
A 50-yard Crusader field goal tied the contest at 16-all in the fourth quarter. However, Neil Reed's 40-yard field goal with three seconds remaining gave UNH the win. 
• Reed booted four field goals, with a long of 50 yards. 
• The Wildcats only touchdown came on a 53-yard pass play from senior wide receiver Caleb Burke to Josh Fillion during first quarter action. 
• Burke also caught three passes totaling 55 yards in the game. Fillion registered two catches for 57 yards and a score. 
• Raleigh Colliins III recorded an interception for New Hampshire. Holy Cross picked off two passes -- both from Matt Verza (11-of-21, 129 yards).
• Verza and Myles Thomason led UNH rushing with a  combined 92 yards on 30 carries. 
• • • •  BALL STATE will try to get its offense untracked this week after totaling just 68 yards against Auburn. That included 71 yards through the air and minus-3 yards rushing on 33 carries.

# MORGAN STATE AT TOLEDO (3:30 P.M., ESPN+)
The Rockets are heavily favored this week as they take on Morgan State team that has lost both of its 2025 outings. 
While the Bears have scored points, they are giving up more. After losing to South Alabama 38-21 in the opener, they fell at home to Towson last week, 27-22.
• • • •  MORGAN STATE trailed Towson 21-16 at intermission. After a scoreless third quarter, both teams added six points in the final stanza. 
• QB Kove Muasau completed 17-of-28 pss attempts totaling 214 yards with one TD and one interception. 
• Malique Leatherbury led MSU receivers with four catches for 42 yards. 
• The Bears totaled 216 yards on the ground, averaging 5.3 ypc. Jason Collins Jr. was the workhorse, carrying 28 times for a total of 134 yard with two scores. 
• Sahr Gbundema atempted two field goals, hitting a 38-yarder and missing one from 21 yards. 
• MSU attempted two 2-point conversions, failing on both. Towson was denied on one 2-point try. 
• • • •  TOLEDO ​picked 
up its first win last week, knocking off Western Kentucky 45-21.
•  UT  is averaging 30.5 ppg and 419.5 ypg. 
• The Rockets average 5.2 ypc when rushing. 
• QB Rucket Gleason has completed 57.7 percent of his passes, good for 425 yards with three TDs and one INT. 
• Junior Vandeross III has 12 catches for 210 yards with two TDs thus far. 


# LIBERTY AT BOWLING GREEN (5 P.M. ESPN+)
A pair of 1-1 teams looking to get back in the win column this week meet Saturday in Bowling Green. 
• • • •  LIBERTY is coming off a 34-24 loss at Jacksonville State. The Flames trailed 17-7 at intermission and pulled within seven points (31-24) before JSU added a late field goal. 
• Junior QB Ethan Vasko completed 19-of-29 passes totaling 335 yards with two TDs and an interception. 
• Donte Lee Jr topped the Flames with two receptions for 74 yards and a score. Junlian Gray also had two catches, adding 73 yards and another TD. 
• Sophomore Evan Dickens ran 13 times for a total of 114 yards with one TD (52 yards). 
• • • •  BOWLING GREEN trailed Cincinnati 21-0  and was down 31-10 heading into the fourth quarter. 
• The Falcons were limited to 98 yards rushing and averaged 2.9 ypc. Cameron Pettaway provided 72 yards on 13 trips. 
QB Drew Pyne completed 29 of 36 throws totaling 274 yards with one TD. 
• The Falcon defense allowd 333 yards and three touchdowns through the air. 
# OHIO AT NO. 1 OHIO STATE (7P.M., PEACOCK)
The challenges don't get any bigger. 
The Ohio Bobcats visit undefeated an No.1-ranked Ohio State Saturday. For those interested in watching, this game will be broadcast on Peacock.
• • • • • OHIO STATE opened the season by defeating No. 1 Texas 14-7 and then demolished Grambling 70-0 last week. The Buckeyes scored 21 first quarter points and 14 in the second stanza. They then repeated that production for the third and fourth stanzas. 
• OSU outgained the visitors 651-166 overall. Grambling managed 72 yards passing and 94 on the ground.
• Ohio State had just seven third down chances, converting five. Grambling went 3-of-14. 
• Buckeyes starter Julian Sayn completed 18-of-19 pass attempts, good for 306 yards with four TDs and one interception. 
• The Ohio State defense registered two sacks and nine TFL. It also forced three turnovers. 
• Jeremiah Smith is OSU's top receiver, recording 11 catches for 182 yards with two TDs in two games. He has a long of 67 yards. Carnell Tate has seven receptions, 112 yards, and 2 TDs. 
• • • •  The OHIO Bobcats shook off a 34-31 Week 1 loss to Rutgers to defeat West Virginia in Athens last week. 
• Quarterback Parker Navarro connected on 22-of-31 attempts totaling 247 yards with one interception. However, he was also intercepted three times. 
• Navarro also led Ohio in rushing with 18 carries for 87 yards. Sieh Bangura logged 20 trips for 66 yards and a score. 
• Receiver Chas Hendricks recorded eight receptions for 121 yards and a TD. 
• Ohio's defense limited WVU to 72 yards rushing. 
The Bobcats not only overcame three turnovers but 10 penalties for 68 yards, as well.

# WESTERN MICHIGAN AT ILLINOIS (7 P.M., FS1)
The Broncos flirted with victory last week but went down 33-30 to North Texas in overtime. Cracking the win column will be a tall task this week as WMU faces No. 9 Illinois.
• ILLINOIS is 2-0 with impressive wins over Western Illinois (52-3) and Duke (45-19). 
The Illini trailed 14-13 at halftime last week after Duke tallied a TD just before intermission. It was almost all Illinois after that as it outscored the Blue Devils 31-6 in the final 30 minutes. 
• Senior quarterback Luke Altmyer has completed 75% of his passes this year, good for 513 yards with six touchdowns. He has not been intercepted yet. He was 22-of-31 for 296 yards and three scores against Duke. 
• Hank Beaty was the top receiver (8 catches, 128 yards)
• Illinois ran 38 times for 127 yards and three TDs against the Blue Devils. 
• Hosting Duke slightly out-gained the Illini overall (438-423). 
• Illinois played turnover-free football, while Duke lost four fumbles and an interception. 
• • • •  WESTERN MICHIGAN led North Texas 27-17 early in the fourth quarter but surrendered 10 points to force overtime. The Broncos kicked a 48-yard field goal in their possession, but NTSU followed with a touchdown. 
• WMU was limited to 87 yards passing but registered 216 on the ground. Jalen Buckley led the way with 30 carries for 112 yards. 
• The Broncos attempted just 14 passes, completing seven with one TD.

# EASTERN MICHIGAN AT KENTUCKY (7:30 P.M. , ESPNU) 
Eastern Micigan got a shark bite last week as the Long Island Sharks edged EMU 28-23. It ws LIU's first win against an FBS team. Now, the Eagles face a Kentucky team looking for its second win against a MAC opponent this year. The Wildcats opened 2025 with a 24-16 victory over Toledo.
• • • •  KENTUCKY fell to No. 20 Ole Miss 30-23 last week. The two teams were tied at 20-all in the third period, but Ole Miss scored 10 straight points before a final Wildcat field goal. 
• The Rebels out-gained UK 455-359 overall. Significantdamage was inflicted by Ole Miss's run game, which produced 225 yards.and three scores. 
UK quarterback Zach Calzada completed 15-of-30 attempts for 149 yards.
•  Ja'Mon Maclin and Hardley Gilmore IV combined for four catches and 110 yards. 
• Ty Bryant picked off two Rebel passes. 
• Kicker Jacob Kauwe connected on all three field goal attempts, including a long of 39.
• • • • EASTERN MICHIGAN was out-gained 479-311 by Long Island. 
• QB Noah Kim completed 18-of-29 for 189 yards and two TDs in the loss. Dontae McMillan rushed eight times for 58 yards and a score.

# MASSACHUSETTS AT IOWA (7:30 P.M., BTN)
After watching a potential victory slip away in the final seconds last week, the UMass Minutemen have a tough task Saturday when they visit Iowa. 
The HAWKEYES may still be angry after a stinging loss to rival Iowa State in Week 2 action. The two teams were tied at 13-13 before ISU converted a 54-yard field goal with 1:52 remaining. The Hawkeyes were unable to gain a first down after that, leaving Iowa State to run out the clock. 
• The game was a defensive battle, with neither team reaching 250 yards of offense. Iowa was outgained 214-238 overall.
• Senior QB Mark Gronowski connected on 13-of -24 pass attempts, totaling just 83 yards with one INT.
• Jacob Gill caught five balls for 52 yards to lead Iowa.
• Jaziun Patterson and Gronowski combined for 97 yards rushing on 17 carries -- 16 by the latter. 
• Drew Stevens hit two field goals in as many tries, with 36 yards being the longest. Punter Rhys Dakin averaged 47 yards per boot. 
• UMASS fell to Temple (42-10) in its opener. 
• QB Brandon Rose has completed 27-of-44 (61.4%) this year, good for 217 yards with one interception. Grant Jordan is 15-of 24 so far, contributing 211 yards with one interception. The Minutemen have now thrown for a score yet. 
• JacQuan Gibson as recorded 19 receptions totaling 221 yards. 
• Rocko Griffin is the leading UMass rusher, carrying 20 times for 114 yards and a TD over two games.

# AKRON AT UAB 8:30 P.M., ESPN+)
The Akron Zips have failed to score through two games, falling to Wyoming 10-0 in Week 1 and Nebraska 68-0 last week.
• • • • In facing ALABAMA BIRMINGHAM Saturday, the Zips may have a better chance at scoring a few touchdowns. The Blazers have surrendered 42 and 38 points against Alabama State and Navy. Of course, they also scored quite a few -- 52 in the Week 1 win and 24 while losing to Navy. 
• Jonah Delang's 40-yard field goal ast time expired left the Midshipmen and Blazers tied at 24-all last Saturday. However, defenses prevailed after intermission. Navy added one TD per period and UAB failed to score at all. 
• Senior QB Jalen Kitna completed 22-of-32 for 304 yards with two TDs and two interceptions. 
• Corri Milliner and Soloman Beebe recorded six catches apiece for a combined 177 yards and one TD. 
• Javon Jackson logged 15 carries for 66 yards and a score. 
• Pierre Royster and Devin Hightower combined for 21 tackles (6 solo) to lead the Blazer defense. 
• As usual when facing an academy team, UAB was tasked with stopping a run-heavy option attack. Navy did finish with 295 yards rushing on 51 carries. Four of five Midshipmen scores were on the ground. 
• • • • AKRON quarterback Ben Finley has completed just 39.0 percent of his 59 passes, producing 193 yards with one interception. 
• Sean Patrick has averaged 5.3 ypc., gaining 90 yards on 17 rushes.
