BUFFALO, NY -- The Bulls ran for 230 yards and held Toledo (4-2, 1-1 MAC) to 46 yards on the ground as Buffalo (4-2, 2-0 MAC) defeated UT 30-15 Saturday at UB Stadium.
Al-Jay Henderson carried the ground game load for Buffalo, logging 17 carries for a total of 142 yards. The latter was more than his previous total for the season.
Quarterback C.J. Ogbonna contributed two running scores among his 14 carries totaling 26 yards. He also completed 11-of-20 passes good for 127 yards and one TD. JJ Jenkins and Victor Snow comibined for six catches and 70 yards.
Victor Snow's 2-yard TD run at 4:55 of the first quarter was the only score of the first half. The Bulls then added two more TDs in the third quarter for a 21-0 lead before UT finally got on the scoreboard with a 26-yard pass from John Alan Richter to Jerjuan Newton. Richter, a sophomore, replaced starter Tucker Gleason, who was injured on a third quarter sack.
Buffalo added to its advantage with 10 more fourth quarter points for a 30-7 lead. Newton put Toledo on the board again with 5:08 remaining, and the Rockets added two points with a toss to TE Anthony Torres.
Newton finished the day with seven catches totaling 159 yards with two TDs. Junior Vandeross III registered eight receptions for 74 yards.
The Rockets totaled 372 yards through the air, with Richter completing 16-of-23 for 227 and two scores. Gleason connected on 14-of-26 before leaving with the injury.

KENT, OH -- Visiting Ball State (2-4, 1-2 MAC) built up a 27-7 third quarter lead and then held on for a 37-35 victory over winless Kent State (0-6, 0-2 MAC) Saturday at Dix Stadium.
KSU quarterback Tommy Ulatowski completed 17-of-36 passes for a total of 384 yards, with four TDs and one interception. However, The Flashes were held to 67 yards rushing.
Ball State, meanwhile, balanced its offense between 215 passing yards and 191 yards on the ground.
Braedon Sloan carried 22 times for 76 yards and two scores to lead Cardinal runners, who collectively scored three TDs and averaged 4.9 ypc.
Quarterback Kadin Semonza connected on 21-of-34 attempts, good for 215 yards with one touchdown. Tanner Koziol recorded eight catches for 43 yards Malcolm Gillie had two receptions totaling 61 yards.
After trailing 27-7, Kent State batled back, pulling within two (30-28) with 1:28 left in the contest. Vaughn Pemberton answered with a 41-yard TD at 1:13, and Ulatowski found Chrishon McCray for a 57-yard TD reception with 30 seconds left.
BOWLING GREEN, OH -- After trailing 7-6 at intermission, Northern Illinois (4-2, 1-1 MAC) tallied 11 unanswered points in the second half to post a 17-7 win over Bowling Green (2-4, 1-1 MAC) Saturday at Doyt L. Perry Stadium.
Gavin Williams led the Huskies with 29 carries for 102 of the team's 170 yards rushing. NIU quarterbacks Josh Holst (10-of-14, 89 yards) and Ethan Hampton (5-of-7, 19 yards) combined for 108 yards through the air. Andrew McElroy led Huskie receivers with five catches for 47 yards.
The hosting Falcons were held to 210 yards of total offense and committed the game's only two turnovers.
Bowling Green totaled just 98 yards through passing, with Connor Bazelak completing 8 of 14 for 88 yards and a TD. That 11-yard first quarter score was went to Harold Fannin Jr. BGSU was unable to score again after that.
It was the fourth loss in the last five games for Bowling Green.
Northern Illinois has now won two straight.

MOUNT PLEASANT, MI -- Visiting Ohio (4-2, 2-0) dominated the first half and held on for a 27-25 victory over Central Michigan (3-3, 1-1 MAC) Saturday at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.
After a first quarter field goal, the Bobcats offense scored three touchdowns to take a 24-0 lead to intermission.
The Chippewas seized momentum after halftime, scoring eighteen points to make it a one-score game (24-18) with 9:00 remaining.
Gianni's Spetic's 46-yard field goal on Ohio's following drive proved to be the difference. Central Michigan managed one more score, with Marion Lukes running 28 yards for a TD at 1:52. However, Ohio ran out the clock with its next posession.

YPSILANTI, MI -- With their backs against the wall, the Miami RedHawks (2-4, 1-1 MAC) executed their best all-around performance of the 2024 season Saturday when they defeated Eastern Michigan (4-2, 1-1 MAC) 38-14 Saturday at Rynearson Stadium.
It was a bounce back win for MU, which fell at Toledo last week and desperately needed a victory -- both to avoid falling to 0-2 in conference play and also to avoid a 1-5 record at the schedule mid-way point. Eastern Michigan, meanwhile, was looking for its fourth straight win and a 5-1 mark that would have been its best start since 1989.

KALAMAZOO, MI -- After spotting Akron a 17-0 lead, Western Michigan (3-3, 2-0 MAC) scored 24 second quarter points and went on to post a 34-24 win over Akron (1-6, 0-3 MAC) Saturday at Waldo Stadium. The game was interrupted by a five hour weather delay.
Akron out-gained the hosting Broncos 501-387 overall, but UA committed four turnovers while WMU played turnover-free football.
Quarterback Hayden Wolff completed 17-of-25 attempts, good for 191 yards with two TDs. Malizue Dieudronne and Kenneth Woman combined for seven catches, 94 yards and a TD.
Jalen Buckley led Bronco rushers with seven carries toraling 103 yards. WMU registered 196 yards on the ground overall.
Akron was held to 88 yards rushing, with Jordon Simmons providing 63 yards and a TD among his 13 carries. However, The Zips threw for 413 yards. Ben Finley completed 24-of-36 for 395 yards with one interception.
The game was tied 24-all midway through the third quarter. However, Wolff hit Kaeveon Mack with a 10-yard TD pass at 4:02 of the third period. WMU's Luka Zurak hit a 20-yard field goal for the fourth quarter's only points.
