Matt McDonald, Bowling Green, QB
Senior, Newport Beach, Calif.
Threw a career-high five touchdowns, which is tied for third-most in the nation this season and are the most in the MAC. McDonald’s six total touchdowns were also a career high. McDonald helped Bowling Green overcome a 14-point deficit in the second half, taking a seven-point lead late. He led BG through seven overtimes, including throwing two touchdown passes and going 3-of-5 on 2-point plays starting in the third OT. McDonald also rushed for a touchdown and a game-high 64 yards.
MAC East Division Defensive Player of the Week
Khalib Johns, Kent State, LB
Grad, Lancaster, Calif.
Johns recorded a pair of sacks of Oklahoma quarterback Dillon Gabriel on Saturday night. Both sacks helped to thwart Sooner drives. Johns was part of a defense that held Oklahoma to seven first-half rushing yards and was the first group-of-five team since 2013 to hold Oklahoma scoreless at home in the first quarter.

Josh Smith, Kent State, P
Sophomore, Narre Warren, Victoria, Australia
Smith helped to flip the field at Oklahoma on Saturday night. Smith boomed six punts for an average of over 43 per kick with a long of 49. He dropped a pair inside the 20 as well on Saturday night.
MAC West Division Offensive Player of the Week
Dequan Finn, Toledo, QB
Sophomore, Detroit, Mich.
Sophomore quarterback Dequan Finn completed 12-of-26 passes for 177 yards and one TD in the victory over UMass. He also ran for a team-high 74 yards and a career-high tying two scores. His TD runs were 21 and 15 yards. He also had an 18-yard run on fourth-and-six that set up Toledo's first touchdown.
MAC West Division Defensive Player of the Week
Braden Fiske, Western Michigan, Defensive Line
R-Junior, Michigan City, Ind.
Braden Fiske helped make key tackles and forced and recovered the fumble that led to WMU's first scoring drive in the 37-30 win over Ball State. He ended up with six total tackles, 0.5 for loss, one bass breakup and one quarterback hurry. Fiske stepped up his play in the second half of the win, helping hold the Cardinals to just 187 total yards offense in the final two quarters.
MAC West Division Special Teams Player of the Week
Nick Mihalic, Western Michigan, Punter
Graduate, Skokie, Ill.
Mihalic helped the Broncos win the field position battle in their victory over the Cardinals. He had five total punts and averaged 42.0 yards per punt. He had one punt over 50 yards and one that landed inside the 20. Mihalic also had six kickoffs with one touchback and an average of 63.6 yards per kickoff.
