After demolishing Fordham 41-17 last week, Bowling Green is a significant underdog against No. 8 this Saturday in Beaver Stadium.

Penn State had a balanced attack, producing 222 yards while averaging 5.3 ypc in the run game and totaling 235 yards on the ground.
>>> Junior Nicholas Singleton (6-0, 227) led PSU rushing with 113 yards on 13 carries (8.8 ypc) and a score.
>>> Junior QB Drew Allar, meanwhile, connected on 11 of 17 attempts totaling 216 yards with three TDs.
>>> Harrison Wallace III led PSU receivers with five catches, 117 yards and two TDs. His first TD covered 50 yards and opened the day's scoring.

The Zips have Ohio State in the rear view mirror, but they aren't out of the Big 10 woods yet. Next up is Rutgers.

Ball State was the only Mid-American Conference team not to play last week, so the Cardinals should be itching to play by now.
>>> Missouri State came out on the short end of a see-saw battle with Montana last week. MSU led most of the first half, but a Grizzlies field goal as time expired gave Montana a 12-10 edge at intermission. Missouri State scored early in the third quarter to retake the lead (17-12), but Montana tallied two more TDs to grab a 26-17 lead and held off MSU down the stretch.
>>> Missouri State held a slight edge (356-347) in total offense.
>>> The Grizzlies totaled 99 yards on the ground, with Jacardia Wright providing 76 yards (1 TD) on 19 carries. Overall, Missouri State averaged 2.9 ypc.
>>> Senior Jacob Clark completed 23 of 39 passes, totaling 257 yards with one interception.
>>> Eight different MSU players caught at least one pass. Hunter Wood and Jacardia Wright combined for 12 catches and 139 yards.

Dix Stadium - Kent, OH
Kent State stayed with Pitt well into the third quarter in last week's 2024 opener, but Pittsburgh scored the final 20 points for a 55-24 victory.
KSU comes home this week, hosting St. Francis (PA). With No. 14 Tennessee and No. 8 Penn State looming over the following two weeks, KSU will need to take advantage of a FCS matchup.

>>> St. Francis lost at Dayton, 18-10, last week despite outgaining the Flyers 247-203.

Notre Dame Stadium - Notre Dame, IN
After dominating Western Illinois 54-11 in Week One, Northern Illinois shuffles over to South Bend for a stiffer test. Notre Dame moved up to No. 5 in the rankings this week after defeating No. 20 Texas A&M 23-13 at College Station last Saturday.
>>> Notre Dame never trailed, but it was 6-6 at intermission and 13-13 late in the fourth quarter. The Irish finally pulled in front for good on Jeremiyah Love's 21-yard run with just 1:54 remaining. They added a field goal with 30 seconds left for the final 10-point margin.
>>> The Irish won despite converting just 2 of 12 third down opportunities. Texas A&M went 4 of 13.
>>> ND forced two turnovers - both interceptions (Adon Shuler, Xavier Watts). However, the Irish also committed 11 penalties for 99 yards.

Husky Stadium - Seattle, WA
Eastern Michigan started 2024 on a winning not by handing future MAC member UMass a 28-14 loss last week in Amherst. The Eagles now head to the other end of America to face Washington Saturday in Seattle.
>>> The Huskies are now part of the Big 10 Conference and were picked ninth of 18 teams in a USA Today preseason poll.
>>> Washington opened its season with a 35-3 win over Weber State. The Huskies outgained WSU 482-253 overall.
>>> Washington limited the Wildcats to 98 yards passing and just 11 completions on 32 attempts.
>>> Senior QB Will Rogers completed 20 of 26 passes totaling 250 yards with 1 TD. The Huskies totaled 278 yards and two passing TDs overall.

Glass Bowl - Toledo, OH
Toledo got off to a solid start last week when the Rockets routed Duquesne 49-10. They are a heavy favorite again Saturday when they host future MAC Member UMass at the Glass Bowl.
The Minutemen went 3-9 last year, losing to three MAC teams. One of them was Toledo, which posted a 41-24 victory -- also at the Glass Bowl.
>>> UMass fell to Eastern Michigan 28-14 last week. After a scoreless first quarter, the Eagles took a 14-0 lead to intermission. UMass cut that in half midway through the third period, but EMU added 10 fourth quarter points before a final Minutemen touchdown with 2:06 to play.
>>> UMass converted 10 of 17 third downs and totaled 24 first downs. EMU had 21 first downs but led in total yards 375-329.
>>> UMass QB Taisun Phommachanh completed 20 of 30 passes, good for 177 yards. He also led the team in rushing, carrying 16 times for 57 yards. Jalen John was next, totaling 53 yards on 14 carries.

After cruising past Central Connecticut 66-10 in Week One, Central Michigan hits the road for a matchup against Florida International Saturday.

>>> IU outgained FIU 414-182 overall and had a 23-13 advantage in first downs.
>>> Florida International sophomore Keyone Jenkins completed 20 of 29 passes, good for 129 yards with one TD and one interception.

>>> The Panthers were held to just 53 yards rushing. They averaged 1.8 ypc. However, kejon Owens averaged 6.0 ypc with six trips totaling 36 yards (long of 23).
>>> FIU struggled defending the run as Indiana picked up 234 yards on the ground. The Hoosiers averaged 5.9 ypc and scored three rushing TDs.

Peden Stadium - Athens, OH
The Bobcats will be trying to improve their third down conversion rate this week when they host South Alabama. Ohio fell 38-22 at Syracuse and matched the Orange in several statistics. However, the 'Cats converted just 2 of 11 third down opportunities. Syracuse, meanwhile converted 9 of 15.
This is the first meeting between Ohio and South Alabama.
>>> The Jaguars fell against North Texas 52-38 last week. USA led 19-14 at intermission, but the Mean Green scored four third quarter touchdowns to take control.
>>> South Alabama outgained UNT 582-550 overall and had one more first down (29-28).
>>> Jaguars QB Gio Lopez passed for 432 yards (3 TDs) and ran for another 62 (1 TD) for 494 yards of total offense.
>>> Wideout Jamaal Pritchett caught 10 balls for a total of 197 yards with one TD.
>>> Three Jaguars rushed at least five times and averaged 4.8 or more per carry.
>>> Defensively, the Jaguars were led by linebacker Blayne Myrick who set a career high with 12 total tackles. South also got nine takedowns from defensive back Jordan Scruggs in his South Alabama debut.

The Bulls took care of business last week, knocking off Lafayette 30-13 to give new head coach Pete Lembo his first Bulls victory. The challenge will be significantly greater this week as UB faces No. 9 Missouri.
People in the sports world had been saying good things about the Tigers before the season started. In fact, a 247 preseason poll ranked Missouri fifth among SEC teams -- one spot behind Alabama.
>>> The Tigers went 14-3 last year, winning six of their last seven games, including a 14-3 triumph over No. 7 Ohio State in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl. Most of the offensive starters return from that team, with QB Brady Cook playing a big role.
>>> Cook completed 20 of 31 for 228 yards and one TD in last week's 51-0 demolishing of Murray State. Mizzou put 28 points on the board in the first quarter.
>>> Eleven Tigers caught at least one pass, and eight recorded multiple receptions.. Luther Burden III led the way with four catches totaling 49 yards and a TD.
>>> Missouri totaled 179 yards rushing, led by Nate Noel (11 carries, 48 yards, 1 TD. Four different runners each scored a TD.
>>> Missouri's defense held the Racers to a total of 85 yards (58 passing, 27 rushing).

Ohio Stadium - Columbus, OH
The Broncos get a second - and more powerful - dose of Big 10 football this week when they meet No. 2 Ohio State. The matchup follows last week's 28-14 WMU loss at Wisconsin.
>>> This is the second meeting between the two schools. OSU was ranked No. 1 back in 2015 when the Broncos paid a visit. The Buckeyes won that meeting 38-12.
>>> This is the second MAC meeting of 2024 for Ohio State, which blasted Akron 52-6 last week.
>>> Akron hit a 48 yard field goal to take a 3-0 lead midway through the first quarter. The Buckeys then scored 52 of the game's next 55 points.
>>> Will Howard, a transfer AB from Kansas State, completed 17 of 28 attempts, good for 228 yards with three TDs.
>>> Two of the TD receptions went to Jeremiah Smith, who led OSU with six catches totaling 92 yards. Carnell Tate and Emeka Egbuka combined for eight catches, 109 yards and a touchdown.
