BOWLING GREEN, OH -- Buffalo bounced back from last week's home loss to Akron with a 28-3 win Saturday at Doyt L. Perry Stadium.
Neither team cracked 300 yards of total offense, but the Bulls defense held BGSU to 216 yards and no touchdowns. Buffalo owned a 28-0 lead before Bowling Green's Jackson Kleather hit a 51-yard field goal midway through the final period.
• Buffalo QB Ta'Quan Roberson connected on 13 of 24 passes totaling 136 yards with one TD and one interceptions.
• Nik McMillan caught eight balls for 105 yards.
• Al-Jay Henderson logged 18 carries for 119 yards and one score. The Bulls totaled 146 yards on 27 rushes (5.4 ypc).
BGSU quarterbackd Drew Pyne and Hunter Majm combined to complete just 11 of 28 passes for 52 yards.
• Austyn Dendy led Falcon runners with 18 carries for 62 yards.
Bowling Green averaged 2.6 yards per run.
• Buffalo led 7-0 after one quarter and added two more before intermission. The first came just six seconds into the second period, while Roberson's 5-yard TD pass to Jasaian Gatherings came with nine seconds remaining before the break.
Victor Snow's 65-yard punt return early in the third quarter was the game's final touchdown.
KALAMAZOO, MI -- Sophomore QB Broc Lowry passed for one TD and ran for another while leading Western Michigan (5-4, 4-1 MAC) to a 24-21 win over visiting Central Michigan (5-4, 3-2 MAC) Saturday at Waldo Stadium.
It was a bounce-back win for WMU, which fell at Miami last week but is part of a tie for second with three games to go.
The Chippewas grabbed a 7-0 lead on Nahree Biggins 1-yard run late in the first quarter. Western Michigan pulled even on a Lowry run, but CMU quickly responded with a 77-yard pass from Joe Labas to Langston Lewis at 7:23 of the second period.
Central Michigan took that 14-7 lead to intermission, but Jason Buckley's 5-yard third quarter run again evened the score.
The Chippewas final lead came on a 33-yard Marcus Beamon reception early in the third quarter. WMU then scored 10 straight points. Lowry's 7-yard pass to Talique Williams at 2:08 providd the winning points.
Marcel Tyler finished Central Michigan's final possession with an interception two plays into the drive.
• Lowry completed 17 of 24 pass attempts for 150 yards and a TD. He also led Bronco rushers with 22 carries totaling 82 yards with a score.
• Central Michigan's Joe Labas and Marcus Beamon combined to complete 9 of 12 for 185 yards with two touchdowns and one INT.
• Lewis led CMU with four catches for 111 yards and a touchdown.
