ATHENS, OH -- Parker Navaro threw for 231 yards and the Bobcats rushed for 258 more in a 47-16 win over Buffalo (4-4, 2-2 MAC) Saturday at Peden Stadium. It was a bounce-back victory for Ohio (5-3, 3-1 MAC), which fell at Miami last week. The Bulls have now dropped two straight.
Navarro completed 14-of-19 on the day, goof for the 231 yards with two TDs with one interception. Both touchdowns went to Coleman Owen, who turned six receptions into 146 yards with the two scores. Owen also ran for one score.
Rickey Hunt Jr. led Ohio rushing with nine caries for 89 yards and a TD. Navaro followed with 13 carries and 81 yards.
Gianni Spetic's 23-yard field goal for Ohio was the only score of the first quarter. Buffalo briefly went in front on a Messiah Burch 27-yard run early in the second period. However, Ohio added three touchdowns -- two on receptions by Owen -- before taking a 24-10 lead to intermission.
The Bobcas dominated play in the second half, scoring on two offensive TDs, an interception return and a two-point conversion return.
C.J. Ogbonna led Buffalo's offense, completing 24-of-39 passes for a total of 257 yards with one TD and one pick. Victor Snow and JJ Jenkins combined for nine catches, 132 yards and a score. Al-Jay Henderson led a 126-yard run game with 14 carries for 81 yards.
AKRON, OH -- Ben Finley's 21-yard TD pass to Adrian Norton with 3:58 left to play lifted Akron (2-6, 1-3 MAC) to a 25-21 win over visiting Eastern Michigan (5-3, 2-2 MAC) Saturday at InfoCision Stadium.
It was UA's first MAC win of 2024, while the Eagles fell to .500 in conference play despite out-gaining Akron 460-378 and recording two more first downs (22-20).
The Zips built up an 18-0 halftime lead, but EMU stormed back with 21 straight points and led 21-18 midway through the final stanza.
Finley completed 12-of-23 passes, good for 122 yards with one TD and one pick. Tahj Bullock added 36 yards while completing two-of-three attempts. Bobby Golden caught four balls totaling 61 yards to lead Akron receivers.
Jordon Simmons averaged 6.8 ypc with 16 carries for 109 yards. Charles Kellom added 65 yards on five trips. Bullock ran for two scores.
EMU quarterback Cole Snyder connected on 26-of-47 passes for a total of 346 yards and two TDs. Both went to Jere Getzinger. Oran Singleton recorded 10 catches for 102 yards.
Delbert Mimms III paced the ground game (114 yards total) with 20 carries for a total of 52 yards and one score.

Kadin Semonza's 34-yard pass to Malcolm Gille on BSU's first play of the Cardinal's winning drive took Ball State to the NIU 40. Another five-yard completion was enough to give Courville a shot.
Semonza completed 22-of-33 attempts, totaling 211 yards with two scores. Tanner Koziol led Cardinal receivers with nine catches for 78 yards and two TDs.
Ball State also rushed for 170 yards. Baughn Pemberton and Bradeon Sloan combined for 31 carries and 120 yards.

KALAMAZOO, MI -- Hayden Wolff tossed three touchdowns and Western Michigan (5-3, 4-0 MAC) ran for four more as the Broncos hung another defeat on winless Kent State (0-8, 0-4 MAC) 52-21 Saturday at Waldo Stadium.
In addition to out-gaining the Flashes 579-250, WMU won the turnover battle 4-1. Tate Hallock picked off two KSU passes, while Jacob Wahlberg and Jayden Childers recovered fumbles. Hayden Wolf completed 15-of-21 passes totaling 208 yards with three Bronco TDs and one interception.
Nine different Broncos caught passes, with three scoring. Kenneth Womack had two catches totaling 68 yards, while Blake Bosman had a game-high six catches producing 59 yards and a TD.
Jaden Nixon (8 carries, 135 yards, 1 TD) led a WMU run attack that averaged 9.7 ypc and totaled 358 yards.
All three Kent State touchdowns came through the air. Tommy Ulatowski completed 12-of-24 passes, good for 114 yards and three TDs with two interceptions. Luke Floriera topped receivers with three catches, 43 yards and a score. Ky Thomas led the Flashes ground game with 15 carries for 62 yards.
Western Michigan was up 38-0 before the Flashes got on the board with a touchdown just before intermission. Both teams scored two touchdowns in the second half.
OXFORD, OH -- Surging Miami (4-4, 3-1 MAC) scored on 10 of 11 possessions and registered 518 yards of total offense while posting a historic 46-7 victory over Central Michigan (3-5, 1-3 MAC) Saturday at Yager Stadium.
With the win, Chuck Martin picked up his 60th victory as head coach of the RedHawks. That moved him in front of Randy Walker, who had 59 wins as Miami head coach.
At the same time, Miami's third straight win moved the RedHawks into a three-way tie for second place behind Western Michigan (4-0 (MAC). Like MU, Ohio and Bowling Green are also 3-1 in conference play. Toledo, which handed Miami its only defeat, lost to Bowling Green Saturday.
