BUFFALO, NY -- The Buffalo Bills used a balanced attack to defeat Lafayette 30-13 in the season opener at UB Stadium.
UB outgained the Leopards 403-223, recording 208 yards through the air and another 295 on the ground. The Bulls were up 16-0 at intermission and maintained at least a 10-point lead through the second half.
⦁ It was the program's first win under new Head Coach Pete Lembo.
⦁ Buffalo's C. J. Ogbonna completed 14 of 24 passes totaling 195 yards and two TDs.
⦁ Nik McMillan led UB receivers with five catches totaling 76 yards with 1 TD. Taji Johnson also had a score.
⦁ Jacqez Barksdale led UB rushing with 14 carries, 99 yards and 1 TD. Al-Jay Henderson also had a score.
⦁ Jalen McNair recorded an interception. Sean Dolac led UB defenders with 11 tackles *6 solo, 2 TFL). Buffalo limited the Leopards to 1.5 yards per rush.

BOWLING GREEN, OH -- The Falcons rolled out to a 27-0 lead midway through the second quarter and went on to post a 41-17 victory over Fordham Thursday at Doyt. L. Perry Stadium.
⦁ BGSU outgained the visiting Rams 475-401 overall
⦁ The Falcons faced just nine third downs, converting five. Fordham went 4 of 16 on third down and 4 of 5 on fourth down.
⦁ Two BGSU scores came on big plays. The first was Justin Pegues' 100-yard kickoff return to start the contest. Terion Stewart sprinted to a 73-yard touchdown to close Falcon scoring at 7:28 of the fourth quarter.
⦁ Stewart led all rushers with 14 carries totaling 161 yards with three TDs. The Falcons totaled 305 yards on the ground.
⦁ QB Connor Bazelak completed 15 of 22 passes totaling 168 yards.
⦁ Harold Fannin Jr. led BGSU receivers with six catches totaling 67 yards.
TOLEDO, OH -- Tucker Gleason shined in his debut as UT's 2024 starter, completing 15 of 23 tosses totaling 205 yards with three TDs in a 49-10 Rockets win over Duquesne at the Glass Bowl.
Toledo was up 21-7 after one period and held a 28-10 advantage at intermission. UT's defense shut out the Dukes after halftime.
⦁ Toledo outgained the visitors 446-282 overall.
⦁ Ten different Rockets caught passes. Jerjuan Newton led the way with five catches totaling 87 yards with one TD. Anthony Torres and Zy'marion Lang also caught one TD each.
⦁ Willie Shaw III and Jacquez Stuart combined for 14 carries 84 yards and three scores.
⦁ Both teams averaged 4.3 yards per rush.
⦁ Toledo's defense forced three turnovers, while the offense played turnover-free football.
⦁ Cavon Butler and Emilio Duran recorded fumble recoveries for UT. Braden Awls led Rocket defenders with eight tackles and an interception.
MOUNT PLEASANT, MI -- Junior Joe Labas completed 18 of 24 passes totaling 342 yards with three touchdowns to lead Central Michigan past Central Connecticut 66-10 Thursday at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.
⦁ The Chippewas scored five TDs of 46 or more yards -- three on offense, one on special teams and one on an interception return.
⦁ The Blue Devils scored their only touchdown of the day at 5:55 of the first quarter, tying the contest at 7-7. However Stephan Bracey Jr. returned the ensuring kickoff 87 yards to put CMU in front for good. The Chippewas added four straight TDs in the second period to break the game open.
⦁ Aajeen Snell's 46-yard interception return at 1:48 of the third period was the game's final score.
⦁ Jordan Kwiatkowski led the Chippewas defense with 10 tackles.
⦁ Soloman Davis topped CMU receives with four catches totaling 109 yards with two TDs. One went for 17 yards and another for 72 yards. Evan Boyd had one TD among his three receptions.
⦁ Myles Bailey rushed nine times totaling 68 yards with two scores. B.J. Harris also ran for a touchdown.
