PRESEASON ALL-MAC TEAM: Eugene German
► The Huskies return 42.5 percent of their scoring, 41.3 percent of minutes and 34.3 percent of rebounds from a season ago.
► Northern lost its only double-figure scorer is now playing for DePaul. Marin Maric averaged 14.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. He has averaged 12.3 points and 5.8 rebounds in 10 games for the Blue Demons.
► Eugene German earned MAC All-Freshman honors last season. He was the fourth Huskie to earn the honor in head coach Mark Montgomery’s six seasons at the helm.
German was selected for this year’s preseason All MAC squad and currently leads the Mid-American Conference in scoring (19.8 ppg).
► Joining German in double figures are junior guard Levi Bradley (13.8 ppg, 5.7 rpg) and Jr. Dante Thorpe (12.3 ppg, 3.5 rpg).
► Northern Illinois has not registered two or more wins or losses since Nov. 26. The most recent win was 69-63 over Illinois Chicago Dec. 21. The Huskies lost at Iowa 98-75 in their non-conference finale.
► NIU is eighth (MAC) in scoring margin, producing 73.6 ppg and surrendering 73.6 ppg. (+2.5)
► The Huskies are second in overall field goal percentage (46.3%). They are fourth in 3-point shooting (36.0%) and ninth in free throw percentage (69.7%).
► Northern Illinois tops all MAC teams in turnover margin (+2.69). However, the Huskies are last in assists, dropping the Huskies to 10th in assist/turnover ratio.
► NIU is last in 3-point goals made (5.8 per game).
► Northern is last in rebounding margin (-1.2 per game).
