Zips blast Bowling Green in tourney opener
CLEVELAND, OH -- Top-seeded Akron put six players in double figure and scored 32 points off Falcon turnovers as the Zips opened MAC Men's Basketball Tournament play with a 96-67 win over No. 8 seed Bowling Green Thursday at Rocket Arena.
The 29-point victory margin was a new program record for MAC Tournament play. Akron also improved on its tournament 3-point high mark with 16 made threes. The previous UA record was 14.

Bowen Hardman led the Zips with 17 points. He was followed by Seth Wilson (15), Tavari Johnson (14), Shammah Scott (14), Sharron Young (12 and Isaiah Gray (11).
Marcus Johnson led the Falcons with a gme-high 23 points. Jamaai Felt contributed 12 and Javontael Campbell added 10.
