● The Chippewas have one MAC game under their belt falling at home to Miami 31-14.
● CMU fell to Boston Colllege last week by a 28-8 count.
● Senior quarterback Shane Morris has completed 54.1 percent of his passes this year. He ranks second among MAC passers with an average of 267.2 passing yards per game. He is ninth in pass efficiency.
● Morris was picked off three times by Boston College last week.
● Senior DB Darwynn Kelly led CMU tacklers against BC with 13 tackles. LB Austin Clark recorded 11 stops, while Alex Briones chipped in 10 tackles.
● Jonathan Ward tops Central in rushing with 66 carries for 326 yards and a TD. Devon Spalding’s two TDs is tops for the ground attack, which has produced five scores.
● Mark Chapman and Jonathan Ward have combined for 54 receptions, 627 yards and four TDs.
● Senior Josh Cox has three interceptions on the campaign.
● Alex Brionex leads the Chippewas in tackles (41), while Joe Ostman has a team-high 5.0 sacks.
OHIO BOBCATS (4-1, 1-0 MAC)
● The Bobcats have won three straight, with the last two being very close games. Ohio edged Eastern Michigan two weeks ago, 27-20, in two overtimes. The ‘Cat’s final non-conference game was a 58-50 win at UMass last Saturday.
● Quarterback Nathan Rourke completed 13 of 24 for 181 yards with two TDs against the Minutemen.
The sophomore has passed for seven touchdowns and zero interceptions on the season. He is second among MAC QBs in pass efficiency.
● Brendan Cope has 19 receptions for 283 yards with two TDs.
● A.J. Ouelette leads the MAC in rushing with an average of 93.6 ypg.
● Kicker Louie Zervos has converted 23 of 25 PATs and 8 of 9 field goals with a long of 46.
