
This Saturday’s game between the Akron Zips and the Buffalo Bulls looms large in the Eastern Division as the Zips look to rebound after seeing their three-game winning streak come to a screeching halt at the hands of West Division-leading Toledo last week.

Saturday’s afternoon tilt is the 17th lifetime meeting between the two schools with the Zips holding a 10-6 advantage. Buffalo has won three of the last four games in the series, including last season’s meeting in Amhest 44-20,.
It is the eighth lifetime game in Akron (third at InfoCision Stadium) UA holds a 6-1 edge on home turf. UB’s only win came in 2008, with the Bulls using four overtimes to post a 43-40 victory in the final game at Akron’s famed Rubber Bowl

>>> The Zips three-game winning streak came to an abrupt end last Saturday in Toledo as the Western Division leading Rockets scored touchdowns on three of their first four possessions. The good start put UT in control and the Rockets went on to a comfortable 48-21 win.
