MRO PREVIEW: Buffalo at Army

9/8/2017

Potent Army ground game is big challenge for Bulls
Picture
One thing is for sure about the Buffalo Bulls opponent for Week Two. In a general sense, the Army Black Knights are extremely predictable. They are going to run the football … and run … and run … and run some more.
Army ran 49 plays from scrimmage last week, and 47 of them were passes. The Black Knights did not complete either of their two pass attempts.
Of course, the . . .

. . . problem for Buffalo (and any other Army opponent) is figuring out just where the Black Knights’ option offense his going. Then there is the task of bringing that runner down.
Army knows the option, and last week is executed well enough to complete overwhelm the Fordham Rams, 64-6.
Buffalo, meanwhile, fell at Minnesota 17-7 in former Western Michigan head coach P.J. Fleck’s debut at the helm of Minnesota.

ARMY BLACK KNIGHTS (1-0)● NOTE: While there will be competition on the field, outside that competition we can appreciate  that West Point trains leaders who sometimes risk their lives in defense of our country.
