9/14/2017

Offenses primed for CMU vs SU meeting
Picture
Two teams who can keep the scoreboard busy will collide Saturday in western New York. Both Syracuse (ACC) and Mid-American Conference member Central Michigan are averaging over 36 ppg after two weeks.
The latter, however, has a chance to . . .

.  .  . go 3-0 after knocking off Kansas on the road last week.

Syracuse, meanwhile, is smarting from a 30-23 home loss to Middle Tennessee State of Conference USA. That game was close all the way, with neither team leading by more than seven points.

The contest was tied at 23-all in the final quarter, but Brent Stockwell threw his third TD pass of the second half with 6:45 remaining for the final points of the game. A Blue Raider interception sealed the MTSU victory.

CENTRAL MICHIGAN CHIPPEWAS (2-0)
● CMU rallied from a 20-10 halftime deficit to nearly pull out a win in the last matchup of the two teams. SU quarterback Eric Dungy was knocked out of that 2015 contest during the second quarter. Syracuse pulled out a 30-27 win in overtime.
