● CMU rallied from a 20-10 halftime deficit to nearly pull out a win in the last matchup of the two teams. SU quarterback Eric Dungy was knocked out of that 2015 contest during the second quarter. Syracuse pulled out a 30-27 win in overtime.
● The Chips’ passing offense is first among MAC teams and 16 in the FBS.
● CMU is plus-3 in turnover margin. That is first in the MAC and 16 among FBS teams.
● Central has replaced departed QB Cooper Rush with former Michigan Wolverine Shane Morris, who is thriving in new offensive coordinator Chris Ostrowsky’s schemes. Morris had a massive day last week against Kansas, completing 28 of 47 for 467 yards and five touchdowns.
● Senior Wideout Mark Chapman turned three of his eight receptions against Kansas into touchdowns.
