Darrington saw action in 25 contests for the Southeastern Conference champion University of Tennessee this past season. Prior to joining the Volunteers, Darrington earned first-team NJCAA Division I All-America honors and helped Vincennes University to a 32-3 record and a District XVI championship. He led the Trailblazers in points (20.7) and assists (5.1) while also boasting a 2.2 assist-to-turnover ratio and posting a 43.1 three-point FG% and 80.4 FT%.
A four-year letterwinner at Scott High School, Darrington was named District Player of the Year and first-team All-Ohio as a senior in 2014-15 after averaging 23.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 4.0 steals per game that season.
