The Falcons hit 43.5 percent of their 3-point attempts and made 22-of-27 attempts at the charity stripe as Bowling Green avenged an earlier loss at Akron.
Both teams now share first place in the Mid-American Conference East with 11-5 MAC records, which also top any West Division members, as well. It was the third straight win for Bowling Green, which last tasted defeat Feb. 11 at Akron (74-59).
While BG shot 39.0 percent from the field overall, the Falcons held visiting Akron to 29.6 percent from the field and 14.3 percent (5-of-35) from beyond the arc. Loren Christian Jackson scored 35 points for UA, but the rest of Akron's starting lineup totaled just 22 points.
Justin Turner paced the hosts with 19, followed by Davin Zeigler's 18 and Daeqwon Plowden's 10 points (with 13 rebounds).
Northern Illinois 73, Eastern Michigan 71
Eugene German forced overtime and Trendon Hankerson hit two free throws with 10 seconds left in OT as NIU edged Eastern Michigan.
The one-point win avenged a one-point loss in the two teams' first encounter. It also allowed the Huskies to hold a one-game lead over Ball State in the MAC West race.
German led Northern with 23 points. He was joined in double figures by Darius Beane (15), Trendon Hankerson (12) and Lacey James (11).
CMU's David DiLeo owned game-high honors with 25 points. Devontae Lane contributed 14, while Rob Montgomery added 11 and Dallas Morgan chipped in 10.
Both teams had 29 field goals and 18 made free throws. Northern, however, had one more trey.
Toledo 93, Central Michigan 81
Visiting Toledo trailed by one at the half but outscored the Chippewas by 10 after intermission to pick up its third win over the last four games. CMU fell to its sixth straight loss.
All five UT starters reached double figures, with Willie Jackson (19 points, 10 rebounds) topping the group.
Luke Knapke tallied 15, followed by Marreon Jackson (12),
Spencer Littleson (11) and Keyshaun Saunders (10).
Rafael Cruz Jr. led the way for Western Michigan with 21 points. Brandon Johnson and Titus Wright added a dozen each.
The Chippewas made all 14 of their free throws, while UT was 14-of-18 at the stripe. Central had one more 3-point goal, but Toledo scored five more field goals.
Ball State 71, Western Michigan 61
BSU rolled out to a 40-23 halftime lead and went on to a 71-61 win that sent the Broncos to their fifth straight defeat.
Western Michigan had just one starter in double figures. Brandon Johnson tied with luke Toliver for team high honors with 12 apiece. Michael Flowers, WMU's leading scorer on the season, played 16 minutes, took five shots and scored just two points.
Ishmael El-Amin led Ball State with 21 points, while Tajai Teague posted a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Both teams had 21 field goals and WMU owned two more treys. However, Ball State made 19-of-23 from the free throw line, while WMU hit 7-of-10.
Ohio 80, Buffalo 69
The 'Cats exploded for 18 unanswered points to open the game and cruised in for a double-figure win that broke Buffalo's four-game streak.
Ben Roderick led the way with a career-high 21 points -- 18 of which came from beyond the arc. Other Bobcats in double figures were Jason Preston (19), Ben Vander Plas (14) and Jordan Dartis (12).
Jayvon Graves and Antwan Johnson combined for 29 points, while Josh Mballa came off the bench to score 13 for Buffalo.
Kent State 74, Miami 61

KENT, OHIO – Senior Antonio Williams scored 17 points as the Kent State Golden Flashes shot 55 percent from the field in defeating the Miami Redhawks 74-61 Tuesday night at the MAC Center.
With the victory, Kent State (18-10, 8-7 MAC) ended a two –game losing streak and solidified its position for hosting a first round home game in the upcoming 2020 Mid-American Conference Tournament. KSU also has an outside chance to grabbing a first round bye.
Miami (10-17, 3-11) suffered its sixth loss in the last seven outings while remaining winless on the road in MAC play at 0-8.
Isiah Coleman-Lands was the only MU player scoring in double figures coming off the bench to score 12 points.
Junior Danny Pippen came off the bench to score 16 points and pull down four rebounds. Sophomore Anthony Roberts had 13 with five assists while Senior Phillip Whittington added 12.
This second regular season meeting between these long time MAC rivals began as a game of streaks.
KSU opened the contest scoring the game’s first 11 points, with the final three coming on a trey by Terrell Beck from the right corner.
“We started the game in great way.” Senderoff said.
MU climbed back into the game using a pair of threes by Coleman-Lands and one from senior Bam Bowman from the left arc.
Eventually, the 'Hawks used an 18-6 run to gain their first lead, 18-17, at the 11:21 mark and, again, it was Bowman from long range.
However, Pippen, who returned to the lineup after missing the double-overtime loss to Buffalo on Friday with a back injury, hit a three from the right arc at the 6:25 mark to give the Flashes the lead for good.
The home team then expanded its advantage to nine points following a driving layup by Roberts and went into halftime with a 38-31 lead.
Both teams shot the ball very well in the opening 20 minutes. KSU shot 55.6 percent from the floor (16-of-29) and held a 14-11 rebound edge, while the 'Hawks were 12-of-25 (48 percent) overall, including six baskets from beyond the arc.
KSU started the second half strong opening a 14-point lead-- its largest of the game-- 53-39 on a layup off the glass by Williams. He scored 13 points in the first half going 6-of-9 from the fiels.
The closest the Redhawks would get for the remainder of the game was eight points, 62-54, on a three from the right arc by Coleman-Lands
KSU held the visitors at bay and avenged their first game loss to MU on January 14th at Millett Hall 77-74.
The Flashes shot 60 percent in the second half (15-of-25) and won the battle of the boards 29-20. MU went 11-of-24 from the floor (45.8 percent) and a respectable 46.9 percent from the game (31-of-54).
Overall, the RedHawks connected on 11 threes from the floor to six for KSU. The Flashes won the battle of the boards 29-20 .
Miami returns home to face Central Michigan Thursday in a makeup game from January 28th, while KSU heads to Ohio to battle the Bobcats.
