(EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University football program continued to add to the roster for the upcoming 2023 campaign, as the Eagles welcomed nine student-athletes to the football program Wednesday, Feb. 1, on National Signing Day. Freeman earns POTW honors The Mid-American Conference on Monday announced this week's MAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week. This week's honoree is Akron forward Enrique Freeman. ![]() Enrique Freeman, Akron, Forward Junior, Cleveland, Ohio Enrique Freeman led the Akron to a pair of wins over Miami (73-68) and Ohio (83-77) as the Zips are riding a six-game winning streak and moved to 11-0 at James A. Rhodes Arena. Freeman averaged a double-double with 22.5 points and 11.5 rebounds while shooting 76.0 percent from the floor (19-of-25). Freeman had an incredible performance to lift the Zips over the Bobcats, collecting 32 points and 15 rebounds for his 10th double-double of the season. He shot 77.8 percent from the floor (14-of-18) and dished out two assists while grabbing 11 defensive rebounds. Against Miami, Freeman scored 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field and grabbed eight rebounds with two assists. (Oswego East) Junior RayJ Dennis led Toledo to a pair of victories last week by averaging 23.0 points, 7.0 assists and 6.5 rebounds per game while posting an impressive 7.0 assist/turnover ratio. He also shot 52.9% (18-of-34) from the field and 57.1% (4-of-7) from three-point range. Dennis opened the week by tallying 25 points, a season-high tying nine rebounds, seven assists and a career-best two blocked shots in a 90-75 win over Ohio. He scored 17 of his points on 7-of-8 shooting in a dominant first half to help the Rockets take a 52-31 lead to the locker room. Dennis then registered 21 points, seven assists and four boards in an 86-77 victory at Buffalo. He helped the Rockets pull away from the Bulls down the stretch by scoring six points and dishing out three assists during a game-ending 15-7 spurt over the final 6:35.
