Offensive Player of the Week: Miami RB Kenny Young
Miami junior running back Kenny Young (Tallahassee, Fla.) had a career high 125 rushing yards and two touchdowns in a 24-14 win over Buffalo. Young added three catches for 29 yards to record a career best 154 all-purpose yards vs. the Bulls.
Defensive Player of the Week: Ohio LB Chad Moore
Ohio senior linebacker Chad Moore (Grove City, Ohio) recorded his third interception and his second forced fumble of the season in a 48-3 win over Kent State. With the win, Ohio became bowl eligible for the ninth straight season. Moore ranked second on the team with five tackles, all of which were solo in the outing. Moore ranks third on the Bobcats with 46 tackles and 26 solo stops and leads the team in interceptions and is second with two forced fumbles. Moore is ranked third in the MAC in interceptions and ranks 16th nationally.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Ohio K Louie Zervos
Ohio sophomore kicker Louie Zervos (Tarpon Springs, Fla.) connected on field goals of 43 and 34 yards and went 6-6 on PAT in a 48-3 win over Kent State on Saturday. Ohio became bowl eligible for the ninth straight season. Zervos has connected on 10 field goals and 38 PAT this season. Zervos ranks third in the MAC with 68 points and second amongst kickers. With the two made field goals against Kent State, Zervos moved into second in career field goals made at Ohio with 39.
Offensive Player of the Week: Toledo QB Logan Woodside
Toledo senior quarterback Logan Woodside (Frankfort, Ky.) threw for 304 yards and five touchdowns in a 48-21 win over Akron. Woodside completed 17-of-24 passes, including eight of at least 20 yards. He completed passes to 10 different receivers, including three different receivers who caught TD passes in the first quarter. Woodside recorded the 14th 300-yard passing game of his career. It is the fourth time in his career he has had at least five touchdown passes in a game. Woodside also rushed for a season-high 39 yards.
Defensive Player of the Week: Central Michigan DE Joe Ostman
Central Michigan senior defensive end Joe Ostman (St. Ignace, Mich.) had four solo sacks among his five tackles and forced a fumble in a 56-9 victory at Ball State. Ostman leads the FBS with 10 sacks this season. He has 24 for his career, third-best in Central Michigan program history.
Co-Special Teams Player of the Week: Toledo K Jameson Vest
Toledo junior Jameson Vest (Peachtree City, Ga.) made field goals of 29 yards and 40 yards in a 48-21 win over Akron. He attempted a career-long 55-yarder in the second quarter that missed wide left. This was Vest’s fifth game this season with at least two field goals. Vest also averaged 64.3 yards per kickoff, with five touchbacks in seven kickoffs.
Co-Special Teams Player of the Week: Northern Illinois K Christian Hagan
Northern Illinois senior Christian Hagan (Omaha, Neb.) made field goals of 29 and 32 yards and converted on all six of his PATs, accounting for 12 of the Huskies points in a 48-17 win at Bowling Green. His first field goal came as NIU executed a two-minute drive at the end of the first half to give the Huskies a 31-7 halftime lead. Hagan has now made 69 consecutive PATs dating back to the 2016 season opener at Wyoming, including all 25 of his attempts this year. He leads NIU in scoring with 43 points this year.
