MUNCIE, IN -- Five Akron players reached double figures as the Zips rallied in the second half to defeat Ball State 88-79 at Worthen Arena. It was Akron's fourth Straight win, raising the Zips record to 12-3 MAC, 14-4 overall. The Cardinals dropped to 5-8 MAC, 7-11 on the season.

After connecting on just 34.3 percent before intermission, the Zips hit 73 percent of their shots from the field over the last 20 minutes. Five (of eight) scores came from long distance. The visitors also took advantage of 25 free throw opportunities on the evening, sinking 19.
Ball State hit all nine of its charity tosses. The Cardinals owned one fore field goal (31-of-65, 57.7%) and had one less trey (8-of-21, 38.1%).
Isahmael El-Amin led BSU with 20 points. Brachen Hazen knocked down 18, while KJ Walton added 12 points.
After trailing 36-30 at the break, Ali moved UA in front 43-42. Hazen's layup edged the hosts back in front, but Akron then seized the lead for good on basket by Freeman. Akron took command with a 10-2 run beginning at 7:20.
