MAC East Division Defensive Player of the Week
Jacquez Warren, Miami, Defensive Back
Sophomore, Durham, NC (Southern Durham)
Warren had five tackles and his first career pick-six in Miami's 27-9 win over Akron last Saturday. The sophomore intercepted a pass in the fourth quarter and returned it 62 yards for his first career touchdown. Warren was part of a defensive unit that forced three turnovers, four sacks and scored a touchdown.

Dom Dzioban averaged a career-best 48.1 yards per punt in Miami's 27-9 win at Akron last Saturday. The sophomore had three punts of over 50 yards, downed two kicks inside the opponent's 20-yard line and had a long of 67 yards as well.
Tucker Gleason, Toledo, QB

Redshirt freshman Tucker Gleason got his first collegiate start at quarterback in Toledo's 27-24 win over EMU. He replaced sophomore Dequan Finn, who sat out the game with an injury. Gleason connected on 15-of-27 passes for 238 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran for 33 yards on 7 carries, including a 21-yard run on 3rd-and-12.

Sophomore safety Maxen Hook tied a career-high with 13 tackles and nabbed the first interception of his career, a game-clincher late in the fourth quarter of Toledo's 27-24 win over EMU.

Sophomore punter Mitchell Tomasek had another strong outing for Eastern Michigan against Toledo. With five punts on the afternoon, the Columbus-native tallied a total of 205 yards, averaging a total of 41 yards per punt and upping his season total to 45.4 yards per punt. The season average number is first in the MAC by 1.7 yards. Tomasek is trying to keep the trend of an Eastern Michigan player leading the MAC in yards per punt, since Jake Julien led the league in this category from 2019-21. The sophomore has a total of 1,452 yards on total punts this season.
