Series: Bowling Green leads 60-20--6
Kent State's deficit grew the second half as the Tigers depth, along with some heat and humidity, proved to be too much for the Blue and Gold.
This Saturday, they return home to Dix Stadium, looking for their first home win over an FBS opponent since 2017 as they open Mid-American Conference play against Bowling Green. The Falcons have lost their last two games by a margin of 103-7.

BOWLING GREEN FALCONS (1-2)
-- After opening the 2019 season with a home victory over FCS member Morgan State, the Falcons have lost their last two encounters 68-0 -- losing at Kansas State and then last Saturday at home to Louisiana Tech 35-7
-- Head Coach Scott Loeffler has used three quarterbacks so far this season, with redshirt senior Darius Wade getting the start against KSU. In his three starts, Wade has completed 53.9 percent of his passes for 503 yards with three touchdowns and one interception.
-- The running game is led by another fifth-year senior in Devon Jones, who has gained 171 yards on 37 carries and scored a touchdown.
-- Receivers are paced by junior TE Quintin Morris who has 12 receptions for 171 yards and two scores.
-- The defense is led by junior LB Kholbe Coleman who has 25 total tackles (nine solo).
-- Bowling Green registered seven sacks last Saturday against the Bulldogs -- the most in one game since the end of 2016 -- and BG leads the MAC with 11 through the first three games
-- Bowling Green is 4-4 in its last eight MAC openers, dating back to 2011. All four of the victories came on the road and it is the first time since 2015 that the Falcons have opened their MAC schedule on the road.
-- This is the 100th season of Bowling Green Football
-- BGSU has a week off before it travels to Notre Dame on February 5th to battle the Fighting Irish.
-- The game is the 87th lifetime meeting between the two schools, with the Falcons holding a decisive 60-20-6 edge. BGSU has won five of the last six games in the series. KSU, however, picked up its victory in their last meeting at Perry Stadium, 35-28. BGSU won the last matchup at Dix Stadium in 2017, 34-16.
KENT STATE GOLDEN FLASHES (0-3)
-- The Golden Flashes traveled to Alabama last Saturday and battled nationally-ranked Auburn Tigers. Ultimately, the Orange and Blue showed its muscle on a hot and humid evening, wearing down KSU en route to a 55-16 final score
-- QB Dustin Crum, who played well the previous week in an overtime home win over Kennesaw State, completed 15-of-24 passes for 198 yards and a second quarter touchdown pass of 53 yards to sophomore Isiah McKoy, who had four catches on the evening for 85 yards.
-- Woody Barrett came into the game in the second half and found WR Kavious Price with a 16-yard score in the fourth quarter.
-- McKoy, Price, and Antwaun Dixon each had four receptions in the contest
-- LB Akeam Peters led the defense with nine tackles (all solo)
-- P Derek Adams was named MAC Special Teams Player of the Week, averaging 43.7 yards per punt on seven kicks against the Tigers
-- KSU is 22-43-2 in MAC openers
-- The Flashes complete the non-conference portion of their schedule next week as they travel to Wisconsin to battle the Badgers, who are are home this week against Michigan
