OXFORD, Ohio – The Miami RedHawks had been tantalizingly close – but ultimately short – while falling four straight times over the last two weeks. They finally got over the hump Tuesday, and a big hump it was as MU knocked off MAC-leading Buffalo 84-81 at Millett Hall. Freshman Nike Sibande led the RedHawks, who rallied from a 41-36 halftime deficit and held off heavy Buffalo . . . ATHENS, Ohio -- The Battle of the Bricks has been a one-sided affair as of late, with Ohio winning 11 of the last 12 meetings entering Saturday’s matchup at the Convocation Center. Thanks to an overtime 11-2 Ohio run and some inconsistent Miami offense, the Bobcats added another brick to their pile with a 92-87 win over MU Saturday. Ohio actually . . .  MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan overcame a 10-point second-half deficit to take down Central Michigan University, 72-67, Saturday evening on the road at McGuirk Arena.

KENT, OHIO – Junior Jalen Avery scored 16 points -- all of them in a span of 3:15 to help the Kent State Golden Flashes defeat the Akron Zips 78-68 Saturday afternoon before a near sellout crowd of 6,055 at the MAC Center.
