 CLEVELAND, Ohio - Bowling Green & Toledo have been selected to win their respective divisions in the 2019-20 MAC Men's Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll. Bowling Green received a total of nine first place votes when it came to picking who would win the East, while the Rockets received 11 first place votes to take home the West.

BUFFALO, NY – Behind the strength of five defensive takeaways, the Buffalo Bulls defeated Central Michigan, 43-20, at UB Stadium on Saturday afternoon. It was the Bulls second straight win, leveling their record at 4-4 overall and 2-2 in Mid-American Conference play.

To say that both the Akron Zips and Northern Illinois Huskies are in desperate need of victory is an understatement. UA is off to its worst start since 2010 after being shut out last Saturday at home by Buffalo 21-0. NIU, meanwhile, has lost five of its last six games. One of those . . .  After breaking a two-game losing streak with a win over Bowling Green last week, Eastern Michigan hopes to make it two in a row when it takes on Toledo Saturday in the Glass Bowl. The Rockets, once a preseason MAC West favorite, are on a two-game losing streak.

Operating under a new head coach, the Flashes (3-4, 2-1 MAC) have already won more games than all of last year (2-7, 1-7 MAC) and will be slight favorites on their home field. They nearly pulled off a big road upset last week, hanging with . . .  One of this week’s premier MAC match-ups pits two division leaders against each other. One was a preseason pick to reach (and win) the MAC championship games. The other is something of a surprise, but brings a perfect 3-0 conference into the tilt.
