TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo Rockets are headed to the National Invitation Tournament, meeting a recently hot in-state opponent during first round action. The Rockets (25-7, 13-5 MAC) will travel to Cincinnati, Ohio to face Xavier University (18-15, 9-9 Big East) in the Cintas Center on Wednesday, March 20 at 7:00 p.m. The Musketeers won seven of eight games prior to Friday/s 71-67 overtime loss to #25 Villanova.

 BUFFALO, NY – The Mid-American Conference champions and nationally-ranked Buffalo Bulls have been placed in the NCAA Tournament South Region and will head to Tulsa, OK as the #6 seed. UB will face the First Four winner of Arizona State and St. John's on Friday at the BOK Center. If the former wins, it would pit the Bulls against their former coach, Bobby Hurley.
Buffalo's game will tip off at approximately 4:00 pm ET and will air nationally on TNT. It will be the second game in the session, with #3 Texas Tech and #14 Northern Kentucky. Buffalo enters the NCAA Tournament with a 31-3 record, tied with Houston for the best mark in the country entering postseason play. UB took down Bowling Green, 87-73, Saturday night in Cleveland, winning its second straight MAC Tournament and fourth title in five years. The sixth seed is the highest for a MAC program since the tournament expanded to 64 teams in 1985. While the last three titles have come under head coach Nate Oats, the first was under his predecessor Hurley, who is now the head coach at Arizona State, one of two possible opponents for Buffalo. The Sun Devils are 22-10 on the season and they went 12-6 in the PAC-12, where they were the #2 seed. Arizona State lost to eventual PAC-12 tournament champion, Oregon. The other possible opponent for UB will be an in-state opponent in St. John's. The Red Storm are 21-12 on the year and finished 8-10 in the Big East. St. John's lost in the Big East Tournament to one of Buffalo's three defeats on the season -- Marquette. Arizona State and St. John's will play on Wednesday night in Dayton, OH.The MAC champion Buffalo Bulls were awarded a No. 6 seed for the upcoming NCAA men's basketball tournament and will meet the winner of a play-in game between Arizona State and St. Johns.
