RedHawks, Rockets top preseason MAC coaches poll

CLEVELAND – The Miami RedHawks and Toledo Rockets have been selected to win their respective divisions in the 2020 MAC Football Coaches Preseason Poll. Miami received a total of six first place votes when it came to picking who would win the East Division title, while the Rockets received four first place votes to take home the West Division crown.

Rocket hoops coach tests positive, enters self-quarantine

TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo has announced that head men’s basketball coach Tod Kowalczyk has tested positive for the Coronavirus and will self-isolate for 10 days.

Statement from Head Coach Tod Kowalczyk:
“I tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday and am currently self-isolating for 10 days following all of the necessary protocols that our university's medical staff has established. Associate head coach Jeff Massey will be assuming my coaching duties during my absence. I look forward to returning to coaching the team once all of our safety protocols have been met.”

MAC releases football 2020 schedule

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference has announced its football schedule for the 2020 season. Subject to state, county and local guidelines, the six-game conference-only schedule will begin on Wednesday, Nov. 4 with a full slate of games. As scheduled, that first week's set of contests will be the only inter-divisional matchups for a season that will not include any non-conference games.

The regular season slate will conclude with the East Division & West Division Champions playing in the MAC Championship Game on Friday, Dec. 18 at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich. (Time TBA).

No general public attendance or tailgating will be allowed at games. The participation of Marching Band, Dance, Cheer and Spirit Squads at football games will be at institutional discretion guided by Conference protocols and consistent with public health guidance.

Additional announcements on television selections and games times will be made announced at a later date.
