Miami head football coach Chuck Martin loves “chunk yardage.” As long as it’s his team moving the sticks, he’ll take those chunk plays either way – through the air or via runs. Rockets and Rams will meet on gridiron

The University of Toledo and Colorado State University have agreed to play a home-and-home series in football beginning in 2019, according to UT vice-president and athletic director Mike O’Brien. The Rockets will play at Colorado State on Sept. 21, 2019 while the Rams will make the return trip to Toledo on Sept. 25, 2021.

    Mike Smith saw his first MAC football action as a nine-year-old while hanging onto the flagpole of a nearby baseball stadium. The view got better after he discovered he could get in free at halftime.  
    Decades later, he can usually be found either on press row or along the sidelines.
    Mike has won awards for both his stories and pictures during his time in journalism.
