It was Ohio's first win at Kent since 2014 and lifted the Bobcats to 4-4 in Conference play (10-10 overall). The Flashes fell to 3-5 MAC (10-10 overall). The new scheduling resulted in part due to the elimination of East and West divisions. Going forward, the two top teams based on conference winning percentage will qualify for the MAC Football Championship game at Ford Field in Detroit. In the new model, each team will face all 11 conference opponents - home and away -- at least once during a three year cycle.
