Toledo bowl win slips away in final seconds (UT Athletics) TUCSON, Ariz. – Toledo led for much of the Barstool Sports Arizona Bowl, but fell to Wyoming by a score of 16-15 on a 24-yard field goal as time expired at Arizona Stadium in Tucson, Ariz. on Saturday. The Rockets led 15-6 heading into the fourth quarter, but the Cowboys scored 10 unanswered points in the final frame to pull ahead for the win. A 12-play, 87-yard drive ended when Wyoming's John Hoyland knocked the game-winning field goal through the uprights on the game's final play. Finn-less Rockets look to finish with win After an upset loss in the MAC Championship game, the Toledo Rockets have a chance to end their 2023 campaign on a winning note when they face Wyoming in the Barstool Sports Arizona Bowl. A victory would raise's UT's record to 12-2, with the Rockets reeling off 11 straight wins after a season-opening loss at Illinois. Wyoming, meanwhile, owns an 8-4 record. The Cowboys won three of their last four contests, outscoring their last two opponents 84-15. This will be the third meeting between Toledo and Wyoming. Late Falcons rally falls short against Minnesota Hillare shines with 10 catches, 152 yards, 1 TD DETROIT, Mich. – The Bowling Green State University football team fell just short on Tuesday afternoon (Dec. 26), as the University of Minnesota downed the Falcons, 30-24, in the Quick Lane Bowl at Ford Field. Connor Bazelak threw for 221 yards and a touchdown for the Falcons (7-6), and Odieu Hiliare had 10 receptions for 152 of those yards. Hiliare caught the TD pass, and Bazelak and PaSean Wimberly each ran for a score. The Falcons had a 303-281 lead in total offense in the game. Darius Taylor provided the bulk of the offense for the Golden Gophers (6-7), rushing for 208 yards on 35 carries.
