AKRON, Ohio – Akron men's basketball head coach Keith Dambrot announced on Saturday that the Zips will not play in the 2015 postseason.
The Zips fell 68-59 to Buffalo in the Mid-American Conference Semifinals on Friday and end the season with a 21-14 record.
"After evaluating our current position, I feel it is in the best interest of our players and our program not to play in the postseason this year," Dambrot said. "We have several players nursing injuries and have missed a lot of class time over the past few weeks. We would like to thank the postseason tournament committees for their interest in having us continue our season."

Akron advanced to the MAC Tournament Semifinals for a 10th-straight season after downing Northern Illinois, Western Michigan and Kent State. Since changing to the new tournament format in 2012, Akron is just the second team to advance to the semifinals having to win three games in four days to get there (Eastern Michigan, 2014).
