The 60-play scrimmage pitted the defense (White team) against the offense (Green team) on the scoreboard as well as the field. A special scoring system was put in place for both squads to earn points.
The offense clinched one point for every first down and every extra point, while receiving the typical three points for a field goal and six points for a touchdown. The defense secured one point for a PAT and two points for a three-and-out, while also adding five points for a turnover and 11 points for a touchdown.

The White team continued its strong defense, picking up its third-straight stop on downs with two quarterback sacks to take the 6-1 lead over the Green team in the first quarter of the afternoon. The White team grabbed one final stop on downs in the first quarter to take the 8-1 lead into the second quarter of action.
During the quarter break, the two teams took part in a punting competition in which junior Austin Barnes ) gave the White team two more points with his punting accuracy.

The defense again stepped up and stopped the offense on downs to go up 4-1, forcing a punt in the backfield.

The Green team opened up the second quarter earning one point apiece on two first downs, including Reginald Bell Jr. and Shaq Vann runs, but the defense quickly answered back stopping the offense for two more points, taking the 12-3 advantage.
A Juwan Lewis ) first down gave the Green team a fourth point, but a Ross Williams interception at the 34-yard line quickly extended the White lead to 17-4 mid-way through the second quarter.
Another stop on downs extended the White lead by two, but the offense answered back with its fifth first down of the game on a Bell pass to Blake Banham . The White team closed out the half with one final stop on downs to take the 21-5 lead into the third quarter.
For the first half, Roback went 2-for-5 for 22 yards, while Bell was 3-for-15 for 15 yards. Both Banham and Lewis had three carries for the Green team for 15 yards apiece and Vann had two carries for 12 yards. Finally, Dustin Creel ) notched one carry for the Green team for 16 yards.
In a haltime kicking competition, Brendan Renius ( tacked on two points for the White team with a touchback.
The Green team opened up the third quarter with a 61-yard carry from Lewis to earn one point on a first down, putting the team at the 16-yard line. Following the long run from Lewis Bell found a wide-open Creel in the endzone and Dylan Mulder made the PAT to bring the Green team within 10 of the White, 23-13.
After earning seven points, the Green team fumbled the ball, which would award the White team five points in the third quarter of action.
The White team added an eighth stop before the Green team answered back with a 48-yard first down carry by Austin Stone, bringing the score 30-14 in favor of the defense.
The White team tacked on three more points, forcing the offense to kick a 53-yard field goal into the wind, which was missed, late in the third quarter. The Green team again answered back with two-straight first down points before Bell found the hands of Cole Gardner in the end zone and Renius converted on the PAT to bring the score to 33-23 in favor of the White team at the end of the third quarter.
In a catching competition between quarters, both teams were awarded two points for one catch apiece.
The Green team added two first downs to stay within 10 of the White team, which notched its first stop on downs in the final quarter. One final stop on downs was awarded to the White team, earning it the 42-27 victory over the Green team.
The game was a capper on a busy day around the EMU campus as a football alumni flag football game in the Indoor Practice Facility. The team also hosted a junior day in addition to having the 2015 incoming recruiting class and families on hand for the the day.
The 2015 regular season kicks off Saturday, Sept. 5, with a home contest against Old Dominion University.
