Eastern was red hot from the field, finishing the game with a 52.5-percent clip. Additionally, the Eagles' 91.7 percent from the charity stripe serves as the second-best free throw percentage recorded by EMU inside the Convocation Center.
Also propelling EMU to its fourth victory of the season was senior James Thompson IV, who put up his first double-double of the 2018-19 season with 14 points and 14 boards. Redshirt senior Paul Jackson also contributed with 15 points, making it the third game of the season he has recorded double-digit points.
The Eagles and Terriers went back and forth throughout the duration of the first half, with the lead changing a total of nine times before the break. The close battle continued throughout much of the second half before the Eagles put on a 16-point run in three and a half minutes of play, putting the Green and White ahead, 71-51.
From there, the Eagles never looked back, pouring in nine more points to close the lid on their fifth game of the regular season.
Eastern returns to action Monday, Nov. 19, when it travels to the east coast to take on Rutgers University in Piscataway, N.J. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
