The Cardinals will play a first-round game on the road next week. Details on the date, time and opponent for the game will be finalized in the coming days. The tournament’s first-round games will be played March 14-16.
Ball State will be making its first postseason appearance since 2002 and its 12th overall at the Division I level. The Cardinals have previously played in the NCAA Tournament seven times and the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) four times.

After making one of the largest turnarounds in the country this season, Ball State will enter the CIT with a record of 19-13. The Cardinals finished 10-8 in Mid-American Conference play and shared the MAC West Division championship with Central Michigan.
The CIT, now in its eighth season, features a field of 32 teams with all games played at campus sites. There is no pre-determined bracket for the event. In an effort to ensure geographic stability, future round opponents are determined after the results of previous rounds.
The first three rounds of the event will be streamed live via SIDEARM Sports, while the semifinals and finals will be televised by CBS Sports Network.
