The Bobcats held individual workouts followed . . .
"Overall I liked the spring. I thought they practiced really hard and came out every day with an attitude of getting better and I like what they were all about," said head coach Frank Solich.
"They are a very attentive group and they want to be coached. They want to be good. We have some talent, obviously, and it should come together. I feel good about coming out of spring, but we can't be the same player and same team that we are right now as summer ends. We have to use summer to get stronger in some spots, get bigger in some spots, maybe get smaller in some spots. Summer has to be huge for us."
The biggest play of the day included a sack-fumble from RS freshman defensive end Amos Ogun-Semore which was collected by RS senior linebacker Tyler Gullett who returned the fumble 80 yards for a touchdown. Ogun-Semore finished the day with two sacks and a quarterback hurry.
Sophomore cornerback Jamal Hudson also had a sack on a corner blitz.
Another big play from the scrimmage was a 45-yard pass from RS junior quarterback Quinton Maxwell to RS sophomore wide receiver Markel Davis. Maxwell then handed the ball off twice to RS freshman running back Jake Neatherton, who rushed for 12 and eight yards to score.
Maxwell finished the day going 9 of 13 passing for 114 yards. Neatherton finished the day with 10 rushes for 40 yards. Davis was the top receiver catching two passes for 53 yards.
